Ganesh Lodge

When we arrived and taken to our room, we were a bit shocked as it was really old, smelly and the toilet leaked. We spoke to the staff who immediately offered an alternative room at Ganesh Beach (next door) at no extra cost. Wow wow, beautiful spacious room. Loved it. 2 pools both awesome, 2 restaurants on-site serving up amazing food, exceptional pricing and super friendly staff. So many many places to visit close by, recommend hiring a scooter as Virgin Beach isn't too far away but you can book a car or catch the local bus (at a cost)

Ganeash Lodge has some lovely rooms however the ones allocated to our group were not, be mindful when booking online

The location

When we arrived to check in the reception office wasn’t open (it was only 3 or 4pm) so we had to go to the restaurant to check in. While we waited there was a terrible smell of sewage in the reception/restaurant/pool area. There was only one staff member there to check us in. The initial room I was given was hot even with air con on (which was not working well anyway) and had several open areas such as around and above the door where the heat and bugs could come in, there were insects in the room, the door didn’t seem secure at all, the safe didn’t work and the bathroom did not match the photos on booking.com - photos are of a different bathroom. Toilet not working properly, there was a Single sheet on the bed that was not clean and no other bedding. I asked to move to a different room at the back of the hotel closer to the beach that seemed better but same issues again - not clean, not secure, no safe at all, mosquitos getting in because there was no glass in the windows, bedding not clean and only a single sheet. It’s also noisy in this area - staff in the restaurant in the morning woke me up. Overall some of these things would have been fine on their own, especially given it was pretty cheap to stay here, but there were so many small things wrong that it added up to being a big problem. The stench in the restaurant was very alarming. We chose to move to another hotel nearby that was significantly nicer but also cheaper. I understood that the booking was non refundable so didn’t even try to get a refund given we’d already been there for one night. There was a French woman in the main reception office when we checked out who seems to be involved in the ownership or management of the place who asked us to cancel our booking on booking.com so that they wouldn’t be charged the daily fee for our stay for by booking.com - they’re getting the entire fee fee from us anyway?!?

Rustige mooie lodge, supervriendelijk personeel en goed eten.

Netjes goed onderhouden. 2 zwembaden en 2 restaurants. Zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. De keuken was uitstekend, gevarieerd menu van goede kwaliteit.

De lokatie ligt wat afgezonderd waardoor het hebben van vervoer(scooter) of een chauffeur een must is.

Ubud es en si el espíritu de Bali

Prachtige tuin met mooie accommodatie, en twee zwembaden. Een van Ganesh Lodge midden in de tuin, en een tweede vlakbij zee van Ganesh Beach. Ontzettend lekker restaurant erbij, waar we elke avond hebben gegeten, zoveel keus dat je niet verder hoeft te zoeken bij andere restaurants. Ook heerlijke massage bij de accommodatie. Erg vriendelijk personeel die ook op persoonlijke wensen ingaan.

Voor iemand die slecht ter been is, is de tuin niet makkelijk, met veel stapstenen en dergelijke. En vanaf begin 2026 tot eind 2027 wordt aan de boulevard gebouwd, zodat de strand niet toegankelijk is vanaf de accommodatie. Dat was wel jammer.
