good location

room was filthy, carpet was black and there were balls of hair everywhere. Splatters and stains all down the walls and hairs in the bed Also states parking is available, however majority of it is permit only, of which we were not provided, opposite side of the road is overnight only and paid 4 hour max during the day- we ended up having to park several streets away which was frustrating internet also didn’t work for majority of the stay

La moquette era molto sporca, in certi punti della stanza ho trovato anche della muffa. I letti riportavano delle macchie giallastre e peli, non erano ben puliti.

Door hsndle falling off making room access tricky this time. Not suitable for drivers and dropping off picking up a bit of a challenge.

Toilettes moyennement propre

Beautiful building, large and light room. There were 2 shared bathrooms, both reasonably clean, and the shower in the one I used was excellent. Convenient location for me, also close sento buses, trams and restaurants, shops etc on Leith Walk. Check in was with lock box, great communication from owners / managers and easy to access. Clear instructions for check out also. The bedding was clean, white and smelled fresh.

The room felt soulless - very sparsely furnished, plain magnolia walls, reminded me of student flat days. However, never in my 50 years on the planet have I experienced such an uncomfortable bed. The mattress springs scream in pain every time you sit or lie down. The divan base was bowed. It was truly torturous. You do get a sense of history of the old building through the thick coating of dust on skirting boards and picture rails, and accumulation of dirt on light switches throughout the property. With no pictures on the walls and no TV, it was great to have a beautiful big window that overlooked the properties enormous garden, full of overgrown trees and brambles. I understand fully that this is a lower budget property, but when the bed is so uncomfortable that you can't sleep, and it's actually cost more for 2 nights than you've previously paid for 3 nights in a similar property nearby, it also feels exploitative. I feel really quite very sad leaving this review - as a solo traveler, I'm only after the basics, but a functional bed should be a given - that mattress was criminal. So much potential for the rest of the property with a little more attention to cleaning and decor, with less neglect of the outdoor spaces.
