Fairhaven Hotel

Lovely location, friendly & helpful staff, clean & pleasant room, great sea view.

Clean, good position for amenities.

Old fashioned in need of modernisation, didn't like breakfast pre ordering or eating at a set time.

The property is dated. The breakfast was cold. Breakfast had a 45 minute window. Served from 8.15. till 9.

Breakfast was wonderful. Being a short walk from the centre of the town made it quiet. Staff were friendly Fabulous being so close to the sea.

The facilities in the room were excellent, so were the breakfasts and the staff service overall. It was a small establishment in a character building, which I much prefer, and I was given a front door key allowing 24-hour access. It was at the quieter end of town, which was appreciated. The seating area and coffee table by the window allowed me just to sit and watch the people going by, or the sea, when I so wished.

The second set of stairs to my room on the second floor were very steep and windy, though there was a very sturdy handrail, so I could manage them. Also, I was unable to park anywhere nearby on the day I arrived - however I should really have anticipated that on a Bank Holiday weekend, and also with a large public event taking place nearby that I had actually travelled there to attend. Later in the week the whole town was much quieter, and I was able to park directly opposite the hotel.
