Avonlea Guesthouse

The host was very rude before check in We arrived around 19hrs she was not there,gates locked We called she said she would be there in 15 minutes We decided to go and grab supper She arrived and called we where still out She said if we are not there in 5 minutes we might aswell forgert about her unlocking the property for us

Breakfast was amazing

The 3 ladies Agnes and others were, friendly, helpful, and hospitable. They made our stay enjoyable.

I am not sure about their manager. If anything she needs to pull up her socks and ensure all her customers are treated and given the same care. During the evening there is no one to offer help encase of emergency, especially for clients coming outside South Africa. No guesthouse helpline phones for any emergencies. It might be good also to have a physical security for help to hotel residents.

Its was clean and in a quiet neighbourhood.

1. There were petty rules e.g i am not allowed to take the iron in the bedroom. 2. Breakfast was served and the boere wors served with the breakfast was the size of my thumb. 3. Shower was not comfortable. 4. Room had no aircon. NB..the owner charges too much. I paid R990 per night for a room with no aircon, uncomfortable shower and at breakfast the wors was 4cm long. NB.. paying is not a problem but it should be value for money.
