Luxurious, Fabulous, Fun, Contemporary Suite in Retreat Centre

Charming. Whimsical and elegant at once. Restful, a very peaceful atmosphere.

I can’t think of a thing.

Me and my partner came and stayed here for one night to visit James May’s pub and take in some of the stunning scenery. We were greeted by the lovely owner. She was extremely accommodating - we let them know when we booked about my partner’s food issues and they went to lengths to cater for us. The suite itself was magnificent, with a huge and very comfy bed and a stunning bathroom. A very homely and spectacular room with perfect facilities that made our stay very comfortable and convenient. The only shame was that we only booked for one night! We will return soon, such great value for money with the great personal service. I would highly recommend!

Where to start? The host is charming, affable and very welcoming. The suite was well equipped, very well decorated and beautifully set out. The bathroom is very modern, but in a way that meets the quirky charm of the decor and building. Every detail had obviously been thought through to make my stay absolutely lovely!

Nothing! If anything, this has spoiled me for other stays. How can they stack up!

What an absolutely stunning space nestled in a beautiful retreat centre in the heart of the tranquil countryside. It felt like a home away from home, and Tanya the lovely host was so welcoming and friendly. She has put so much thought into every last detail to create a wonderful experience, and it really shows. The personal touches and atmosphere she has created here are just wonderful. I cannot wait to come back! Thank you for a magical stay ✨

We loved the calm and welcoming atmosphere. It was refreshingly different from anywhere else we had stayed before and we would definitely stay there again if we are in the area.

We liked everything about our stay.

I was made to feel so welcome and very special. There is a lot of connectivity around the host and her staff and I felt emotionally embraced into the wonderful lifestyle that is Tarastone. nothing was too much trouble for the host and her staff to accommodate me. I was completely relaxed and felt very at home. There was also plenty of advice on travelling, sightseeing, and they even managed to secure a table at the fabulous local restaurant on a Friday evening, last minute.

The decor was spectacular and the cleanliness was above expectation. I also enjoyed the high quality tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom was beautifully fitted and the shower was very enjoyable - hot and powerful.

There is a lot of misleading information about the acceptance of dogs, which ultimately ruined the stay. On the booking page, there was mention of dog beds and bowls being provided, photos of dogs, and a link to their website that mentions dogs are welcome on site. However, I was later informed that dogs are not welcome solely in the room in which I was due to stay, as the owner's dogs (downstairs) are "too reactive". The owner realised how misleading this information on the booking.com page and their website was and offered a full refund, however, revoked the offer later in an email. The bed was just two singles pushed together and not comfortable. The owners' dogs barked persistently and the location next to a national speed limit road made for occasional disturbances.

Tarastone is warm and welcoming and Tanya's attention to detail is impressive, everywhere you look and with a willingness to accommodate all dietary needs, nothing is too much trouble. The bed is large and sumptuous and really comfy and a delicious breakfast was delivered to our landing in a beautiful picnic basket at the time of our choosing.

Well, how many accommodations offer an inspiring meditation room in their facilities? It was a great bonus. The room, the hall and the bathroom were all spotlessly clean and super comfortable. On top of that, we just felt so very welcome by the sweet and personal care from the hostess. Heartwarming. We would definitely come back.

The house is next to a road, but the room is on the back side of the house, and we were not much disturbed by traffic noise.

Greeted by exceptional service and the room was for once far better and bigger then the photos. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
