Very comfortable room with heat! On the cold, wet, rainy day we arrived this was a welcome and somewhat unexpected treat (many places in Portugal do not have heat). The concept of the house, spacious rooms around a courtyard in a wonderfully renovated old building, has been done quite well. Super location for seeing all of historic Santarém. Convenient parking garage down the street. Hotel is located in a nice shopping district. The place was so great and comfortable we booked a night on our return journey.

The bathroom sinks are a bit of design over function and make a mess. Not difficult for us but could be for some travelers -- a long flight of stairs to get up to rooms including some quite steep ones. None of this is unusual in an old Portuguese building.

The location in the historic city center was what I wanted, yet the area was quite on a Saturday night for restful sleep. The room, an upgrade, was exceptionally nice, clean & modern. Once entering a narrow door, up the stairs, it feels like a spacious villa! There was complimentary wine, cheese and pastries at check in with adequate coffee for morning. Andrea, was there for a smooth check in and available as needed, only a text or call away. She recommended restaurants, etc. She was helpful check out. I left a couple of things she retrieved with my luggage conveniently stored at the entrance. She helped me book my ride back to the train station.
