Guesthouse Shirahama

Super cozy stay in Shirahama. I love the location. The owner is so kind! It is so clean and neat. It was very comfortable in a traditional Japanese room.

The guesthouse is super clean and the landlord is extremely nice. Very convenient location with many restaurants nearby. Close to the beach and bus stations (about 7-10 mins walking distance). Usually it could be a little bit cold in a Japanese traditional house. No worries, air conditioning available here!

Wifi is available on the first floor, not so stable on the second floor.

This cozy house offers all the essential amenities and is impeccably clean. While the room isn't soundproof, it didn't bother us at all. I particularly enjoyed the inviting kitchen area, perfect for relaxing. Convenient parking is right in front, and the host is very helpful in arranging spaces. Don’t miss the wonderful onsen nearby, 南紀白浜井の芝 —it's definitely worth a visit!

The house is in a Japanese style, which was nice. The host was really friendly and helpful, and speaks English quite well. The beds were comfortable, and there were free towels. The location is superb, I walked to the beach everyday.

The shower is outside which isn't the most comfortable.

The house owner is very helpful. As we need to catch up an early train in the morning before bus operating time, she helped us book a taxi.

We loved this place! The owner is such a wonderful friendly person. She was great to chat to and get some local tips. It was comfy and very quiet.

Only one old shower for the entire guesthouse, which is outside the house. Poor WI-FI which works only in the common area. Check-in only between 3pm-7pm Owner locks the house and does not give the keys, so If you are late you have to wait for her to open it. House is old and everything creaks. when trying to sleep you can hear literally everything that's going on in the neighboring rooms, or in the toilet. Someone, while cleaning, threw my factory-packaged sweets into the trash. Lady who owns the house is an unfriendly person, from the first message and during my stay the atmosphere was still not friendly. I had to wait until 3pm the next day to check-in because as the owner replied check-in only between 3pm-7pm. She said that her place is cheap so I have to follow her rules, so despite paying and texting about the problem in advance, I had nowhere to sleep and the cost of the first night was not compensated in any way.
