Hostal Raíces de mi Pueblo

The staff/family that run the hostel are so lovely & very helpful with any questions. The daily breakfast was really good, and the communal space was nice to relax in. Although the hostel is away from the centre of town it’s only a short walk and the area is very quiet and safe.

The single room was very hot (I was there at the hottest time of year which may be why!).

Stay here and you'll feel like Suchitoto is your home! The ladies running this hostal were warm, sweet and always accommodating. If there's anything you need they're always there to help or chat with you, even with my language barrier! I was extremely lucky to chat with them about the history and culture of the area and learned alot! The breakfasts were also great. And the common room was super cozy and chill, I loved the hammocks and mountain view. Everything was clean, tidy, and organized. The hostal is in a nice location. I had no issues walking the area around the hostal at night. In fact, if you do need to grab a dinner go to the pupuseria next door, one of the best dinners of my entire trip. Everything you'll need is in walking distance.

I had room Number 5 I believe, it's downstairs and around the corner. I wasn't able to access wifi from my room, but I could still access it from upstairs in the common room. The neighbor does have roosters so if you aren't a heavy sleeper keep that in mind. Though honestly the chickens didn't bother me all that much. No AC but that's to be expected for such an affordable price!

Near the lake. Short walk to town. The owner/staff were really friendly.

Clean private room with bathroom, breakfast, nice wooden terrace with comfy chairs & hammocks, drinking water, 23$ is a great value and kind family run

All was good. Things to know: * Located in the end of the village (still only 10 min walk) to main square. * My room was in the basement with no window and wifi didn’t reach the room. Though I liked the privacy.

This hostel is super clean and the front desk is super courteous.

Great location, wonderful hammocks, delicious breakfast, super peaceful but a short walk to el centro, dueños están muy amables❤️ could stay here for a month if it was a little less expensive.

Everything was great

The best bedsheets in town, fits perfectly for the temperature! Everything was clean and the staff was friendly, they gave us freshly made budin to try - muy Rico!

The toilet paper couldn't be worse. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were hard and not flexible, we didn't like it. Outside there are many animals, we heard them ;) It's a little pricey (10$ less would be fair). Cloths washing is 8$ extra - insane!
