Maison D'hote Chez La Famille

Friendly family. Good food. Views from rooftop were good, but there is no seating there.

Very difficult to find and access via a dirt path down the hill. No sign posting - our driver had to call and the owner came on a motorbike to show us the way. This is budget, backpacker-style accommodation, with absolutely NO extras. We had to ask for soap for the bathroom, and were provided with an almost empty container of liquid soap, only 2 towels provided - no hand or floor towels. The owner told us there would be NO service available on a our arrival ... seemed a bit severe really, but he was more pleasant at breakfast time. Monkey fingers is a short distance away, not directly there as some reviewers have stated. Nothing wrong with budget accommodation, but I just want to clarify, as some of the reviews seem misleading to me.

The view is fantastic and the family is very friendly!

Everything was great! Make sure to bring enough warm clothes during the cold nights (we came in Feb 2025 and the nights were really cold around this time).

If you are just looking for pension that place is fine. But if you are looking place where you are feel like home this is the very right place. The pension has special atmosfere thanks for the family that live there. You will find unique hospitality, delicious breakfast and outstanding view from window. You may also ask for prepare extra traditional maroccan food for dinner or supper. It was great. We had nice evening with chatting and laughing with the family and their friends. Overall It's not 5 stars hotel but it has all the basics. Definitely recommend it.

Excellent! Hussain was super nice, took care of everything and made me feel like I'm a part of the family. Room is clean and comfortable, breakfast was amazing, dinner was great too.

This family guesthouse made me feel very welcome and taken care of. Hussain restored my faith in Moroccan hospitality and the tagine (two of which have been favourites so far). You’ll get a truly local experience here with the property inside a small village and with gorgeous views.

It was a bit hard to find as it’s right in the village rather than on the main road which many other Giesthouses are.

Really friendly and helpful hosts. Nice and clean room. Great location. Good food. They gave me helpful infos and recommendations on what to do, and helped me organize transport to Merzouga. Recommended. Would stay again.

You actually have the feeling of staying with the family. Parents and children are all as friendly and welcoming. The food was great and abundant. And best of all was the owner's generous laugh. The guesthouse is located a few minutes drive from a beautiful hike to the Monkey Fingers. One of our top experiences in Morocco.

Amazing location, brilliant home cooked food with huge portions (shared the Iftar meal), an incredibly welcoming host (we felt like part of the family). We had a spectacular walk through the canyons with advice from the host. Can't recommend it enough.

The owner and his family are nice and they do what they can. I respect that.
