Definitely not a place for everyone but if you’re a hiker looking for a cool “local” place to stay, dry up, cook some wagyu and wash your clothes, this is your place. It was probably some old person’s house so you can totally experience how people in Japan live.

It would benefit from deep cleaning but it’s nothing terrible. At the same time if you absolutely need to have a spotless bathroom, this might not be a place for you.

The location was convenient but everything else was absolutely awful.

The property wasn’t the one we booked, we were put up in a hovel out the back. The property hadn’t been cleaned in a long time, there was dust and mould all over the bathroom and kitchen, old mouldy food in the fridge and cockroaches everywhere. Hair all over the bed sheets, no bath towels (although we stayed clear of the shower room, the hairy plugs and the mould). When we asked the host to clean she told us to leave if we didn’t like it but we had no where else to go and a storm had started. When we left we tried to pay what we thought the property was worth (ie not the rate advertised) but we were chase up the road by a relative with a stick until we paid more. Not a great experience for my daughter! Tried to complain to booking but they were unresponsive and didn’t help us try to move.

食堂「かもがわ」がやっている民泊で、カギなどは食堂で受け取るのですが、そのあたりがよく分からず手間取ってしまいました。

Petite maison, certes ancienne avec ce que cela implique, dans une cour au calme et à deux pas des restaurants et des arrets de bus (permet d'aller facilement à Yakusugi Land, Oko-no-také Waterfall ainsi que l'autre gros village de l'ile). Le port est même à 15 min à pied si vous voulez prendre le ferry sans attendre le bus. L'office du tourisme est à 5 minutes à pied. Rapport qualité/prix imbattable. Personne ayant fait l'accueil sympathique malgré la communication en anglais non possible. Checkout demandé à 9h (alors qu'indiqué à 10h sur booking) mais j'ai demandé à partir plus tard (10h) et cela n'a pas posé de problème. Penser à retirer de l'argent à Kagoshima si vous avez une carte à debit immédiat, seules les cartes de crédit sont acceptées sur l'ile aux ATM! J'ai failli ne pas avoir l'argent pour payer le logement... La maison est d'époque donc ne vous attendez pas à du grand luxe ou à des aménagements prévus pour les personnes faisant plus de 1,60m, je ne pouvais par exemple pas fermer la porte des toilettes car mes jambes dépassaient ^^ Mais une autre porte permet d'isoler du salon et cuisine.

Le bruit du frigo, n'ayant rien mit dans celui-ci je l'ai débranché pour la nuit. Il n'y a plus de seche linge dans la maison, l'equipement a été remplacé par une machine de 10kg (parfait pour tout laver d'un coup en retour de rando) par contre faut qu'il fasse beau pour que ca seche.

I loved it. It was compact, but it was a house with all the facilities. The bathroom was convenient, and I could cook comfortably in the kitchen. The tatami I encountered for the first time was clean and comfortable. With the bus stop right in front, it's good for activities, and there are many shopping centers and restaurants on the beach within walking distance. I asked for a lunch box before hiking, and it was delicious. And when I got out of the accommodation, the Wi-Fi connection to Kamogawa restaurant was very good. There is a Wi-Fi address and password that can be connected to the accommodation. And since the accommodation fee is upfront It will be convenient if you prepare it in advance. It was a great place, and I want to come back. I'm also planning to use this place then. The weather in Yakushima in early March is much cooler than I thought It was pretty cool. Thanks to you, I couldn't see any bugs in the dorm.

一軒家でくつろげる。隣接してるかもがわさんが美味しい。冷蔵庫、洗濯機、乾燥機、お風呂がついている。

ゴキブリはたまに出ます。味わいのある一軒家なのでそれは当たり前だとおもってます。あえて言うならこれくらいと言うことです
