Salmiya Place

Very friendly host. Breakfast with daily changing fresh fruits, toast and eggs. Clean room. Quiet neighbourhood a bit off the city center. Good WiFi, had one longer blackout but this seems unusual.

We stayed at Salmiya Place for two nights to start our holidays in Kenya. The host Pauline was super friendly and flexible with arrival times, prepared breakfast personally and was also willing to store some of our luggage.

The rooms are spacious karma nice furniture, excellent breakfast and very friendly staff. I had special requests and they were always meant with a smile. Down the block is a great grocery store, shwarma restaurant and many other shops

The hot water is sometimes challenging to make the right temperature.

Our host (Pauline) was super helpful, cared for our well-being and comfort. She stays in the apartment (but respects your privacy), prepares the breakfast and waits for you to come home safely. The breakfast was really good and we could choose what we wanted (eggs/baked beans/pancakes) next to toast, cereals and tee/coffee/cocoa. Our room was quite spacious with a big bed (two matresses and one blanket). The area was calm, about 20min Uber drive away from the Nairobi bustle. It is really easy to get an Uber/bolt in the area. The house itself is guarded 24/7 so you feel safe.

The bathroom was worn down, the shower took long time to get warm and the water pressure wasn’t really sufficient. But I think you’ll have to deal with those issues in a lot of places in Nairobi. So don’t expect a beauty palace in the bathroom, but it does the job :)
