The Fountaindale Skegness

We were three golfers looking for somewhere to stay for two nights with a room each.It needed to be convenient for somewhere to eat out and the two golf courses in Skegness The room only price was very competitive and it turned out that the excellnt breakfast was very reasonably priced.The hotel was spick and span, looking frshly dcorated everywhere. Nice ambience to the decorative extras. The welcome from Gemma was verey friendly and thorough ib giving us all the info we needed. Parking was safe on the hotel propety.

The bedrooms were of ample size. The bathroom was compact.

We stayed for one night and, overall, this is an exceptional guest house that I would happily recommend and return to. The property itself is immaculate, beautifully presented, and far nicer in person than the photos suggest. The standard room exceeded our expectations, parking was easy, and the hosts were welcoming and accommodating, even when we arrived slightly later than the usual check-in time. One feature we particularly loved was the honesty bar/snack area, which was a lovely touch and something we've rarely seen elsewhere. The continental breakfast was also very good, with a selection of fruit, yoghurts, cereals and other options available. We were slightly disappointed that the 0% yoghurt used for the granola pots was not made available to us, but this appeared to be more of a misunderstanding than anything else. The only reason I haven't awarded a full five stars is the cooked breakfast. Unfortunately, it was one of the weakest breakfasts we've experienced during our many stays in guest houses and hotels. We both ordered scrambled eggs and bacon on toast, and the scrambled eggs appeared to be microwave-prepared rather than freshly cooked. The texture was quite rubbery, dry and lacking flavour, and neither of us particularly enjoyed it. The toast and bread also felt quite basic and didn't match the otherwise high standard of the accommodation. This is such a shame because the rest of the guest house is genuinely excellent. A freshly cooked breakfast using fresh eggs would make a huge difference and would elevate the overall experience considerably. That said, the quality of the accommodation, cleanliness, hospitality and attention to detail were outstanding, and I would certainly stay here again. Next time, however, I would stick to the continental breakfast options.

This wonderful hotel is one of the cleanest , quietest and calmest hotels I’ve ever stayed in , with super friendly hosts . On a quiet street just a short walk from the main area and beaches it’s the perfect place to relax .

bed was too hard for me as i have a bad back, the owner soon put a topper on the mattress, every thing was fine. Lounge was cold was cold during stay , so we did nor use it.

Very welcoming and accommodating, very clean and tidy , great proximity to all the attractions/ town and places to eat and drink, excellent breakfast

The only small negative for me was that the bed was too firm, which resulted in a poor night sleep as I couldn't get comfortable, but that is just my personal preference, of course.
