"Stayed 5 nights perfect base to explore amalfi coast, islands , Herculaneum and Pompeii and Naples"

8.0

Location near Herculaneum and a short train ride into Naples. Lots of choices in terms of transport my preference was the train at pietarsa-s.Giorgio and go past piazza garibaldi to piazza Cavour etc

Nothing excellent for the price and a peaceful environment to rest

"A religious guesthouse with many rules"

4.0

It’s run by nuns with quite some restrictions on coming and going since you have to be buzzed in every time and last entry is 23:00. You also have to leave the premise during the day for cleaning. This should have been clear in the rules for the accommodation. The good side of that is that it is very quiet. Too quiet for me and I live alone on an island back home.

The shower was a small sitting bathtub which made it difficult to stand up and shower. The bed was small and fairly hard. Wi-Fi in room didn’t work and cellular reception was poor too. In the description it says there’s fridge etc, but I didn’t have this in my room. The nuns speak little to no English which also made it difficult.

"Comfortable and a great value"

9.0

- Hard to find a private room with your own bathroom for this price in Naples. - The nuns are kind, friendly and accommodating - A simple breakfast is provided according to your preference and choice. - The nuns will clean the rooms/toilets everyday - There's a small kitchen and common area to eat your meals or watch tv - The location is great - a 15 minutes walk to the regional Trenitalia where you can easily take a train to city centre of Naples or to the Amalfi; restaurants and supermarkets nearby as well.

Because it's a monastery, there are some rules you must follow. You need to be back by 11pm everyday since the only way to get inside the accommodation is for the nuns to ring you in, so you do loose a bit of freedom if you're looking to go on a night out. You're also required to be awake by 10am in the morning to get your breakfast the nuns prepared and to hand over your room keys to them so they can clean your room, it wasn't really an option whether you wanted your room to be cleaned or not. As far as I understood, you're also not allowed to take your room keys out of the premise (again because they need your keys to clean the room), so you need to leave it at the reception area. With that said, I never felt unsafe and none of my things were stolen; though I would have obviously preferred to have the keys with me for a better peace of mind. Additionally, there's no fan (air conditioning is extra charge I believe). But I was able to sleep comfortably by just keeping the windows open and letting the cool air in. Overall it wasn't a big deal for me, more of a nitpick and just something to be mindful of.
