Wonderful location very close to Mount Batur. The owner is a very kind and helpful lady who waited for us till late in the night as we were driving from Padma beach. She offered us jackets for the morning trek and can also essentially book you a jeep if you have not already done so.

It felt like luxury at a budget price in a beautiful setting, gorgeous gardens, walking to Mt Batur and quiet, rural. Enjoy the views, great hot showers, good breakfasts, comfortable beds and friendly owners and staff. It’s also easy to get to town and Wien, the owner, is happy to help, introducing one great restaurant 15 minutes walk away. Recommended.

We booked a hotel for 2 days (2 nights). The night was really a nightmare. Slugs came out of the toilet and shower in the evening. There were a lot of them - several hundred on the walls, toilet lid, sink, floor. Well. A rat came to visit us at night. It started throwing things off the closet. We managed to drive it out with a towel. In the morning we went hiking in the mountains. After the hike, my wife and children refused to return to the rooms. During the day, countless flies gathered. There were millions of them. I told the staff about the hotel's problems. They replied that they knew about them. They said that they couldn't refund the money because the booking was made through Booking. I asked them to compensate for the price of that 1 day by taking me to another hotel for free. The price would be half the price of 1 day. They refused.

Bathroom can be improve. Saw many snails come in the room during taking shower.

The bathroom could use some renovation, all the taps were leaking so it's very damp in there

I wanted to hike up to Mount Batur, which is why I chose to stay at Bintang house. It is perfectly located with great views of the lake and the mountains, woods all around. My host Seruni, was amazing! She helped me with organising the hike. I got an amazing guide and because of where I was located, I was able to do the long hike and walk not just to the top to see the sunrise, but the guide also took us around the crater and the other side. Serene is amazing, very kind and helpful. When I had to leave, I could not find a grab and she helped to organise a drop off for me. Absolute trooper, with a heart of gold! (She even gave me a recommendation for a tattoo place in Ubud and they were awesome :P) Thank you so much Seruni!! Suk Sema! :)
