Commodore Hotel by Greene King Inns

This is literally our home away from home:) The location couldn’t be better. The accommodation superb and the staff amazing! Special shout outs to Luke, Zach, Jordan, Kit, Lily and Sarah for their hard work and outstanding customer service! Will return VERY soon!

Really great location, right on the beach - also conveniently near the dog friendly beach during the summer. Cliff lift opposite the hotel if you don’t want to walk down/up. Local amenities in Southbourne and Boscombe, pizza van on the cliff top across the road. Bathroom, towels and sheets were all very clean. Decent view even from the non-sea view room (could still see the sea to one side). Staff were really lovely from check-in to check-out and the cooked breakfast was fantastic, good continental options too. Also checked out the dinners and the quiz. Prices were reasonable and weekly deals were great too. Pretty quiet from 1am - 6am. Local parking is available on side streets, although it didn’t feel like the safest place to leave my car overnight.

Room carpets felt a bit sticky and less clean than the rest, some old napkins left from previous guests on the floor behind the bedside tables, walls a bit marked (just needs a little refresh like the downstairs!). There was quite a bit of noise going on until gone midnight from other guests and closing, meaning it wasn’t the best nights sleep - this was probably the low point of the stay as I had to sleep with headphones one night. Very little communication pre-stay. Sent messages to get more info but they were never responded too - had to call a couple of times to get answers. Parking situation on-site isn’t great. More alternative options with breakfast would be great, I was quite surprised in 2026 to find places that only have soy milk (not a huge issue, just meant I had to travel elsewhere for a coffee!)

Great staff and super position

The room was very tired and needed a complete upgrade but that is reflected in the price

It’s location is perfect, right opposite the beach so the views are great. The staff are always so friendly and helpful and the bedding and towels are spotlessly clean.

There’s not much to dislike about the property tbh. The only thing I would say is that the hallways and doors could do with a coat of paint. I know the pub has had a recent refurbishment which looks great, but that’s my only negative.
