Chulia Heritage Studio

The property is located at the quieter side of Chulia Street. It is very near to Masjid Kapitan Keling. So for light sleepers this might be an issue, but I don't mind. Azan can be heard 1 hour before dawn and also for the Subuh prayer. I mistakenly perform my solat before Subuh without looking at the time. The property is exactly as portrayed in Booking.com. The beds are comfy with lots of extra pillow and power outlet. They provided all the amenities mentioned, plus there's an umbrella and a sewing kit 😄 just in case you need it for emergency. The location is good and within walking distance to places like Little India, Chowrasta and etc. It might not be everyone's cup of tea but it ticks off most of my checklist. If you decide to stay at this property, please make sure to notify them 30 minutes earlier prior to ETA. It's a self check in property. If you are taking a grab, please pin point Otto Pizza (shared building) or Brick Cafe at Lorong Seckchuan. The name of the property will not appear in grab app.

Steep stairs... please don't underestimate the stair as it is quite steep. Those travelling with big luggage, elder or children you might want to consider this. Since the studio unit is quite big, the AC will take some time to cool down the entire unit. Maybe can put a standing fan for better air ventilation or install a ceiling fan. Some part of the wall facing the street and staircase is made of plywood I think. As I can hear people coming up and down the stairs. At one point I can hear music being switch on loudly for a duration of time from Otto Pizza.

It is very near to all famous places in Penang.

Nothing. Maybe just a precautions for older people as it requires stairs to go to the room

perfect location, walking distance and very near to main attractions, nasi kandar beratur, kapitan, street art, mosque etc.

Location is central in the UNESCO Heritage site. Eateries are easily available and mostly within walking distance. Premise is clean and comfortable for 3 adults staying in.

The noise from the shop downstairs. Toiletry amenities in the bathroom could be improve with proper dispenser in the shower cubicle. Lighting overall could be brighter to enable one to read. Caretaker of the studio should response & take actions promptly.

1. Never mentioned there will be a steep step. Not suitable for Senior citizen. 2. Stated parking facility but no allocated parking spot. Need to find roadside parking whereby always full. Take risk illegal park on yellow line overnight. Need to stated clearly no parking allocated. 3. Sound acoustic bad. Early morning awaken by hawker noise.
