Theon Resort in Anuradhapura is more of a homestay than a resort. But the personalised touch provided by the family is something to rave about. It has just four rooms, all on the first floor. But the rooms are fresh and clean with decent bathrooms attached. The rooms are accessible by an independent staircase. Only breakfast is served here, but being home-cooked, it is healthy and nutritious. Breakfast is served in a comfortable common room which has a beautiful outside view. Shane, the man Friday at Theon Resort is a humble, polite and trusting person who always has a smile on his face. For lunch and dinner, there are a couple of eating joints within walking distance.

There are only two counts on which Theon could improve. First, as the rooms are sparsely furnished, a couple of chairs and a small table in each room would be a welcome addition. Second, a WiFi for use of the guests should be provided. Another matter of concern is the proximity of the property to the highway. So traffic noise may be a disturbing factor for light sleepers. That said, the property is good value for money and I would definitely recommend it, especially to sound sleepers like me who refuse to be bothered by traffic noises at night.

The owner was lovely, very helpful and welcoming and the breakfast was delicious. Had everything we needed!

The host was very nice and friendly. The rooms were immaculately clean. Overall, the stay was very good. The breakfast was really good too.

The hosts are so friendly and helpfull. They make a wonderfull breakfast and diner. The rooms are big and clean. The friendly uncle was our driver and guide for a few days. Also arrenged a good safari in Wilpattu, saw 4 leopards.

Spotless clean. Fantastic helpful owners! They also have a restaurant with very nice food for reasonable prices. I highly recommend when staying in Anuradhapura.
