Wanas Kato Guest House

Great location. It is nice to have a hotel arranged boat taking us to Philae Temple.

Serene location next to the Aswan low dam and close to the Philae temple. We had a room overlooking the river,you could spend hours observing the river and the gentle movement of the boats. The manager and staff were welcoming and warm. The property has it's own boat and can take you to and from the Philae temple for a reasonable fee. They also arranged for a Felucca ride.

Severe limitations in food options. Breakfast is okay with bread,cheese,eggs and yogurt. But we found lunch and dinner options to be limited. We only spent 1 day here and had lunch at a nearby guesthouse which had it's own kitchen. Would love to see some improvements in this area as the property overall is perfect for a quiet stay by the river.

The bed was small for me

The property was beautiful, we only had a short stay but wish we stayed for longer.

There were a few mosquitos in the room.

The staff was very nice and kind. We had a balcony with an amazing view. Wanas Kato is a very charming guest house in a quiet part of town.

Everything was fine.

Clean, quiet, and right on the water, within eyesight of the Philea temple. Wonderful waterfront, seating for mornings and evenings, boat moorings to catch the boat to the temple. In sight of the 1903 Aswan Dam, and easy pick up and drop off for taxis and small tour buses. The crowning quality of this facility was our host, Sied, who gave us substantial time discussing Nubian culture and the surrounding areas, as well as fixing us up with transportation to visit Abu Simbel. And late meals when we needed food after arriving back after dark. Period he also arranged for the private boat tour over to Fila temple. Rooms were comfortable, air-conditioned, and with beautiful vistas over the water. Food was tasty and plentiful .

For us, the location was peaceful and quiet with everything we needed on site. For those who enjoy walking through bazaars and neighborhoods, this location on the edge of Aswan may not be the ideal location.

皆んなも書いてる行き辛さ。 レンタカーで行ったのですがホテルに何度聞いても場所が分からずGoogleMapでも表示されずずっと探し回って着くのに2時間以上かかりました。 軍人がいる横の道から行くのが正解でしたが軍人に聞いても「こんなホテルは知らん。ここから出ていけ」と言われそこに近付く選択肢がなくなったのが到着が遅れた理由でもあります。優しいスタッフが迎えにきてくれました。 あとオーナーの紹介でボートで観光したのですがオーナーから「500EGDだよ」って言われてボートに乗ってチケット売り場に行きました。チケットが550EGDだったのでオーナーの言ってた金額はこの事かな、って思ってツアーが終わった時にチップ渡して帰ったら後から「少ない。500EGPだ！」って怒られました。私の勘違いもありますが分かりづらく（前払いなら分かりやすかった）怒られて少し不快になりました。その程度のお金を払いたくなかったわけではなかったのでお金が関わるとエジプト人は怖いです。 後は朝食です。パンと野菜でサンドイッチにしたのですがキュウリが野菜というより植物の味で飲み込むのに数分かかりコーヒーで流し込みました。日本の野菜は美味しいので比べるのも失礼になりますがサンドイッチ全体で考えても日本人の口には合わないかも。ちなみに野菜大好き人間です。
