Fureai No Yado Yasuragi

Great location. Very close to ski hire and Gondola and only a few minutes walk to main st of town. Very friendly owners. Would stay again.

The owner and his wife are wonderful and made my son and I feel so welcome - nothing was too much trouble. The location could not be better, the in-house onsen was a daily treat, and the Japanese breakfast is incredible. Highly recommend staying here if you visit Nozawa Onsen.

A few more shelves in the room would have been handy.

The owner and his wife.. they were wonderful host. Ever so helpful and kind. I was collected at the bus station by the owner and dropped off at another nearby hotel on my last day. He always has a plate of apple - peeled and cut - for me everyday when I come back from my 6 hours skiing. Also the hotel is literally 3mins walk to Nagasaka Gondola station.

The walk up from the Main Street is a little steep but you get used to it.

The host is very friendly, gave me their home made blueberry jam and drove me to the bus station multiple times

The highlight of the place is the location. It’s not even a 5 minute walk to the Nagasaka lift. The service is excellent and the older couple who run the place are wonderful. Communication is mostly through google translate but I didn’t have much of a problem. We were easily able to get our lift tickets directly from the lodge and they even assisted us to make a dinner reservation our first night. They also assisted with receiving our shipped baggage and helped to ship them out to the airport. They also picked us up from the bus station. The place is older and not updated but they keep the place spotlessly clean. The breakfast was hearty and we had it daily along were several of the dinners which were also delightful. The tiny onsen was also great and my daughter and I enjoyed using it after a day on the slopes. There is also a small shared kitchenette where you can store food, a toaster, microwave,and place to make coffee/tea. The couple are very sweet and even brought treats and fruit for our kids. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Manage your expectations and you’ll be fine. This is bare bones accommodation. It’s sort of like camping (sleeping on the floor, shared bathrooms, no heating in bathrooms or showers). My biggest complaint was that the bathrooms were freezing (yes the toilet had a warm seat, but still). I would expect that the shared spaces were better heated but they weren’t. Only warm area was your own room. Also, it was quite pricey for what you get. If it were just me and my husband I might come back but with kids, I will opt for something more comfortable in the future. As mentioned, the location is the highlight, so if that’s what you’re looking for (and great food)- then it’s a good spot.

Nothing. Was exactly what we expected.

Location was excellent and the hosts were very welcoming. Enjoyed the traditional Japanese room and found rolling up the sleeping mats gave a lot more space in the room.

Probably not the best time to travel as there were several young children staying and tended to run around . The rooms are not particularly soundproof and the noise traveled. The facilities are rather tired but kept very clean. That’s said we loved our stay here.

Owned by the sweetest couple, they were so attentive to us during our stay and it was lovely to be their guest. Super close to the gondola and rental houses, quick walk into town.

Brilliant facilities.

Breakfast was a bit overpriced for me - although it was still lovely. Location was fantastic. It was a bit difficult dragging my two suitcases up the hill from the Bus Terminal - however, it's located literally right next to the nagasaka gondola. Fanstastic for a ski trip.

The facilities are a bit old. The onsen/shower room is not entirely shareable, you couldn't fit more than 2/3 people there so that means if there are people inside you'd have to wait.
