Penzión Walddorf

The receptionist was nice and helpful although he cannot speak English. The penzion and room is new, therefore there can be no objection to it at all. The wellnes was outstandingly clean and nice.

We were there 3 days and there was no cleaning service during our stay. At least the trash should have been taken out from the room and the wc paper supply should be refilled. There were no tea or coffee provided with the kettle. It would be nice gesture if there will be any.

Lot of rules for the guests to follow, unfriendly place for kids, not suitable for a group of people as the guests are expected to stay in their room and any attempt to do otherwise is being interpreted as a noise making and a breach of the house rules

Clean. Feels modern and new. But not cosy and not very family friendly.

In short: *Overpriced *terrible customer facing *strict policies that are just bad hospitality In details: Very strict policies and terrible customer facing from the staff. Almost every interaction is with an angry and unpleasant vibe. Zero english so communication is very hard, and escalates to raised tones quickly, without any kind of customer service awareness. All the time remarks on what not to do and where not to touch/step/breathe. Attempts to charge extras, putting blame on the guests for their staff misunderstandings, overall feeling of a place that doesn't really like to host guests and they are a burden and potential damage generators. Not recommended for families with children , definitely. Not sure if I will recommend it for couples, either.

Penzión Walddorf is located in the foothills of the High Tartras, just a few minutes’ drive from Starý Smokovec (Ótátrafüred), so it was really convenient to access the key starting points of the trails. I've spent there 3 nights with my family, the provided facilities were a great addition to the hiking experience. We used the pool every day, my kids enjoyed the trampoline in the upper garden. We also could invite a family who stayed at another place to join us in the pool for a reasonable 8 Euros per adult, it was free for their children. The breakfast was really nice, even my picky kids could find some variety to their liking. Our room was clean and comfy, even for the four of us. I would like to emphasize the work done by Lenka, she was a gorgeous hostess, she took good care of us from the morning breakfast till closing the spa in the night. Our stay wouldn’t have been the same without Lenka – thank you!
