Residence Bethel

First of all , Virginie was a wonderful host , warm and super friendly. She is also a great cook that we decided to have breakfast and dinner throughout our stay. The food was simply delicious i.e. manioc galette, ( cassava pancake), all types of eggs , fried breadfruit, octopus curry, fish and many more. The view from the balcony was fantastic. I would highly recommend residence Bethel to anyone looking for a great place but you might need a car if you want to move around Rodrigues island .Once again, thanks Virginie

Hospitality of our host

Virginie was welcoming and very helpful. Check in was easy and fast. She kindly helped with recommending a rental car which was delivered to the airport and picked up from the hotel. Parking is available on site. It is a short drive to town to get to shops or dinner. The kitchen was great to have for basic meal / snack prep or enjoy takeaways from the neighbourhood. Choose breakfast for a small added fee, because it was amazing everyday with freshly prepared hot food, fruit, tea / coffee and fresh juice. The bed was comfortable, the bedroom was separated from the rest of the apartment with a divider wall, and the neighbourhood was quiet for sleeping. The wifi was good to have in case of need to work remotely. The balcony was a highlight and great for relaxing, eating meals, and enjoyed a spectacular view. On this side of the island, you'll have great views, sunsets, and a less touristy vibe. She also helped with arranging with a person to do a boat day trip to Ile aux Cocos. Overall, the owner was wonderful. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Nothing that would stop me from recommending this place. Note that if you opt to rent a car, the accommodation is at the top of a steep hill / mountain and on narrow roads, so the last bit of the drive up is not for the faint of heart or those not comfortable driving.

Wonderful spot. Impeccably clean, beautiful view and comfortable room. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast and special care that Virginie took to make my short but sweet stay so nice. I hope to come back!

A great stay overall. Very cute room with lovely balcony with great view. The highlight was definitely Virginie's home-cooked meals! Lots of fresh fruit juices and varied meals. Virginie was extremely friendly and accommodating - thank you!
