I enjoyed the peace and quiet

We specifically booked this accommodation as it was reasonably priced to finish our holiday and to have somewhere to stay the day of our evening flight. Accommodation is larger than expected. We spoke to the lady who cleaned who was lovely. We particularly liked the large terrace which gave us privacy. The kitchen was good with all the relevant equipment and we appreciated the TV and access to Netflix which we hadn't had in any of the other locations that we stayed in. Bed was very comfortable and the aircon did its job in silence which we very much appreciated. Very secure parking and an ideal location for the local Spar and Bozza's also some lovely local vineyards like Waterford, Dornier.

Accommodation was tired - and there was a musty smell in the lounge area. To be honest the rug and cushions just need throwing away. Communication was all done by Whatsapp which seemed a bit strange when we could clearly see the owner downstairs. No attempt to make any kind of eye contact at all. No concession was made to us as paying guests, so when the owner gets up their dogs are let out barking in the garden. So many comings and goings, there seem to be several businesses being run, including a swimming venue for children so if screaming kids is your thing this is the place. Power was out when we arrived as there was work being carried on the solar panels. We were without for about four hours. The same the next day but our power didn't come back on, we had to chase the owner who seemed unaware that the company had left without putting our power back on. The company then returned and our power came on again at about 6pm. We were then told we could not use the oven/cooker as the Inverter had run down due to load shedding and were advised to go out to eat. This was not acceptable to us as we had purchased food to cook. We ended up having a take out pizza. It was impossible to sit in the pool area as all the work was being carried out by the electrical company here. The following day we were sent a message to say they were starting work on the roof and that we would be notifed when the power was going out again! Fortunately, we were leaving but this is not the way to run a business. We felt that we should have been contacted to advise us that the work was being carried out to give us the chance to make alternative arrangements. However we had paid upfront for our four day stay a long time ago so maybe a refund was the issue. I had high hopes for this property as the location is ideal for us as we love the area.

The location is great, plenty of lovely wine farms and restaurants very close by, the room with self catering facilities gave us the independence we wanted and the pool area was great for chilling at on some of our quieter days.

Spacious room with small kitchenette and balcony opening up into trees. Attentive host. Back up for load shedding!
