Beautiful quiet location. Margie and Hugh are great hosts and interesting people. I loved my stay!

That we got a refund as was the fair thing to do.

Hosts nice as long as you dont give constructive and fair feedback. Dust and cobwebs nearly everywhere. Mould on washing liner (possibly not even allowed to use it as they taped it over. Later told she doesnt charge for it?) Mould on bathroom rails which are made of wood. Unkempt window sils, coffee table and coasters, on bathroom etc not wiped down full of dust. Man responded that they don't disturb wildlife in response to the cobwebs above our bed however there are no spiders in the webs! He then stormed off after trying to gently address issues. Never to show his face again! Rude and unprofessional. There are sticky notes everywhere, "don't flush the toilet without lid down". "No more than one bath a day", even though there's 3 of us. "No showers past 10pm and if you arrive after 10pm be quiet as they live there too". List goes on. I feel like we are stupid and in a school dorm. Everything is controlled. One page of "do and don't do" on table will be sufficient. As paying customers you need not told what to do so much. Mounds of old magazine and pamphlets shoved in plastic sheets covered in dust. You'd not even want to touch them. Put them in a folder and have them up to date. Old rude and paranoia re covid. The lady listened more but was somewhat defensive and passive aggressive. We complimented the breakfast and there was a sarcastic response of "oh a compliment". We understand criticism is difficult to hear but we are paying customers. Life happens as well, but again we are paying customers and not interested in excuses. Made for an uncomfortable second night. We are reasonable and travel lots but this level of cleanliness wasn't acceptable. We asked for a partial refund and got it. The place was cleaned after we complained but it still didn't have a lot of attention to detail, it was done enough to see an improved.

It was isolated, quiet and peaceful. Margi and Hugh were very friendly.and welcoming and breakfast was brilliant

Very cosy and peaceful, with stunning views and a lovely host who made us feel right at home! We really enjoyed the home cooked breakfast and chats with Margie in the morning.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The building is beautiful, it was incredibly clean and breakfast is fantastic. The hosts are truely inspiring and they made our stay extra special. Local walks are stunning and we enjoyed dinner in the local pub which was a short drive away. We will be back.

Outside deck had a relaxing view of the trees and comfortable to sit on. Basic accomodation but perfectly comfortable for a night at a fair price.
