"Great camaraderie, even if you don't speak Japanese."

10.0

Sony and his wife were very gracious hosts and have done a great job at cultivating a true sense of community among guests and staff. The snorkeling trip was a lot of fun as were the dinners and drinks in the evening.

"Honestly couldn't have been better I don't think. I wouldn't ever chose to stay in a hotel over here"

8.0

The host was so incredibly kind and welcoming. I'm very shy and he welcomed me and made me feel very comfortable, he was very receptive. I went snorkeling as guided by the host, I borrowed their bike almost everyday, as well as snorkeling equipment and towel as provided by the host, and even explored Miyako island with some of the other guests. Also the host made their own umeshu which was very nice. A very nice, welcoming, safe and cozy experience.

"Friendly hosts and guests"

9.0

The host was very kind. The guests were all friendly. Snorkeling was also good because the sea was beautiful, and even beginners could do it easily because it taught them slowly. If you want a lot of experience, I recommend it.

It would be nice if there were more restrooms. The ladder is a little dangerous.

"Superb"

9.0

The house is located in a very rural area which is wonderful in my opinion. Nearby there are some restaurants where you can enjoy traditional Okinawan food and also nice smoothies for refreshing the hot days specially in the summer season. I really liked the atmosphere in the house, everyone was very friendly and super supportive; the house was in general very clean all the time. A wonderful destination for those travelers looking for a home stay, enjoying traditional aspects of Japan and connecting with Japanese people as well. Kurima Island is a wonderful place to visit anyways, I definitely recommend the stay!
