It was on the beach. I loved the owners dogs.

Toilet leaked a bit of water. Bathroom door bit small. But rest was perfect.

Santie the host was amazing , very very pleasant experience. Amazing sunset. Room was comfortable. The only thing I did not like.... was that I did not book for a longer stay. This place is good for the mind and body

If it was not for the location we would not have stayed after the first night. There is direct access to the beach. Sunsets are beautiful.

1) Saw the host only on arrival. She left us some snacks and a bit of milk to start with. When I sent WhatsApp's regarding the continuous issues with electricity (Outside of load shedding) and water supply, got very 'snappy' replies. Water and electricity went off sometime for more than 6 hours and outside of load shedding. 2)There were NO emergency lighting, so guest sit in the dark during load shedding. And when there is no electricity, there is no water. Drinking water was supplied. IN the SA context, load shedding is not a new thing and hosts should as a min at least have emergency lighting for guests! 3) Normally for longer stay there is an option for a bed linen change, not here! 4) The accommodation is in different levels of disrepair, bed base rusted, floor lifting, tiles mismatch and cracked, dirty basin, bath needs sealant around the edges and windows lose to mention a few. 5) Now in retrospect I see even on the site there are little pictures of the unit we occupied, BUT the site pictures and the reality of the garden etc is NOT the same. There needs to be date stamp on photos because all venues look good initially, the question is is the maintenance kept up to date? For 14 Penguin Place that is not the case 6) Linen was clean but bedspread was not and had stains on it 7) Even when phoning the host she did not bother to pop-in and explain or discuss. She did not like it when issues regarding the facilities were brought up, so eventually we did not and lived without lighting in the bathroom. 8) Kitchen is basic but with the gas hob there is always access to hot water. 9) There is no privacy, the kitchen is without blinds (was removed) and it faces into for office occupied by people more for more or less 24/7h per day. Towards the front other guests walk past you room all the time and that is not pleasant. To get privacy one has to close the curtains and then you miss out on the beautiful view.

The location is great with beautiful views and easy access to the beach. I loved that there was milk and spoils in the kitchen.

Excellent location, the beach is right outside and accessible from the garden. Santie had milk for us for morning coffee and some extra spoils which made the kids super happy. The horses on the beach in the morning were a real treat!

The host Santie was very friendly, helpful and professional. The place is a gem and very accessible to amenities. Very safe and tranquil. I would recommend it again and again.

Nothing I didn't like.

Location was great.

Guests need to be made aware that the furniture and cutlery etc is very basic and old. Also the upkeep on maintenance on the property is at minimum requirements. Design of rooms, given location, is poor - the best loation, and no windows in bedrooms.

It’s location to the beach

While things were generally clean and neat, the furniture, fittings and paint on walls needed repair.. Eg 3 out of the 4 chairs of the patio table were broken. The kettle/hot plate also did not work

Santie went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable and special stay. We loved her sweet dogs, amazing location, pool and braai (barbecue). And the aircon was a treat
