The Dulu Penida

Property is in great location, in the middle of the forest and so clean inside!

The road, but it’s fine because it’s an island and the nature.

We had bad smell in our shower room, a lot of insects in the room and also the payment is only by cash

I like the bungalow was very nice, located in the middle of the jungle 10 minutes away from Crystal Bay

It could improve the common areas, as they don't have like a restaurant place and breakfast could be improved adding with fresh juice, fruits, and better coffer

It was a beautiful property with nice amenities. It felt very natural and earthy. Also included breakfast which was a plus.

The road to the property is a bit rough so not super easy to get to if you are on a moped. Also the gps doesn’t really show you where it is located.

The beautiful surrounding, the tall palm trees and the lush tropical plants in the well landscaped garden - it's so relaxing, especially waking up here. It is also a quiet area away from traffic and shops. Its within walking distance to Crystal Bay, less than 15min. You get to watch amazing sunset on the beach and there are local food stalls on the beach. Even walking back at night is possible, if you are worried you can ask staff to pick you up by scooter. Its a bit exaggerating to say its 'in the jungle', you are surrounded by nature and its secluded but there are locals living here and there are other villas around. The cottage itself felt very private. Simple, spacious, and comfortable. Even though it has a high ceiling the air conditioning still worked amazingly well. The staff were very responsive and attentive, I felt very well looked after, everything I've asked for they've helped me sorted out. Definitely would come back if I visit Nusa Penida again.

You do hear 'sounds of nature' through the night and in the morning. To me its part of the charm but for light sleepers it might be an issue.

There is no direct road access to the property, one needs to go through the farm area.

We stayed 4 nights on Nusa Penida at this cottage. What we liked: - The garden is very beautiful and very calm - The rooms are spacious, and the bathroom looked good and it was clean - The breakfast was really tasty. There aren't many options (omlette, pancakes and 2 other options) but they were freshly made and very good. - It's in the middle of nature and the vegetation around is wonderful - The staff was very helpful. They helped us book a car to take us from the harbour and back and also for other trips. - Very close to the Crystal Bay Beach, only 10-12 minutes by foot. - We could pay via bank transfer, which was great considering there is no ATM nearby. - Internet was decent, but we stayed in one of the cottages that didn't have a router nearby. The other 2 have a router.

What could be improved: - We had 3 geckos in our room, and all of them made mating sounds at night. Not ideal if you're a light sleeper. - Hard to reach from the beach, because the road is not technically a road, just a path in the jungle. But cars could arrive there to pick us up. The road is the same for all other accommodations in the area, they're all on the same street. - Not many options for food in the area, but this is the case for all other accommodations as well. Only 2 -3 restaurants + the ones on the beach. No store nearby either, and no ATM machines. We almost ran out of cash while staying on Nusa Penida, so plan ahead.
