Title: Extremely Unsafe – Could Have Endangered Our Lives I travelled with my 19-year-old daughter and we did not actually stay at this property, and I am shocked that a place like this is listed on Booking.com. We arrived around 10 PM. The gate was wide open, the property was dark despite electricity being on, and there was zero security — anyone could enter freely. There was no indication of where reception was. After knocking at the back, a young man came out of the front door, seemed bothered, and directed us to the backhouse. Upon arrival, all doors were locked. We eventually heard a man’s voice, but he was busy with something and seemed unprepared for guests. He was unsure whether we had a booking, did not know the property’s email, and could not confirm ownership. At this point, I was terrified. He suggested we sleep in the backhouse with him, in a room he insisted I check. I quickly explained I was with my daughter and needed to leave. We immediately left and spent 20 minutes driving around to find another safe place, eventually staying at Express Inn in Pietermaritzburg. This ordeal not only wasted our money, but put our lives at risk. Booking.com should urgently review this property. It is completely unacceptable for a place with such poor security, unclear ownership, and unprofessional management to be listed.
