Kubu Bakas Guest House

The homestay is really cozy and the hosts are really kind. They help us with renting bikes, scooters and laundry. The warung inside the homestay is really good.

Personnel charmant et très à l'écoute. Cadre très agréable. Possibilité de diner le soir.

Le chant des animaux au petit matin, mais c'est assez général à Bali.

Tutto! L' alloggio dalla forma tradizionale. La posizione in mezzo alle risaie, il ristorante buonissimo, le persone, la colazione. Puoi restare qui più giorni e fare un sacco di attività! Trekking, bicicletta, tour, corso.di cucina, affittare scooter...

Avrei voluto trascorrere più notti ma l'abbiamo trovato solo all' ultima notte a Bali.

We had an amazing stay at Kubu Bakas—it exceeded our expectations even after reading the glowing reviews. Traveling with two teenage daughters, we opted for two cottages, which gave us plenty of space. The setting is stunning—peaceful, surrounded by nature, and a welcome escape from the Ubud crowds, with a lovely quiet walking path to enjoy the rice fields and the ocean and mountain views in the distance. The true highlight was the people: Ari, Sindi, their warm family, a playful cat, and even the fellow guests made it feel like a magical home away from home. Ari and Sindi speak English beautifully, which helped us communicate and connect.  When planning our trip, I’d struggled to find somewhere that felt both comfortable and genuinely Balinese—Kubu Bakas delivered. It was relaxing, scenic, authentic, and unexpectedly enriching. We joined two of their activities and wished we’d had time for more. The bike ride through Bakas village was beautiful and adventurous—we even stumbled across a colony of monkeys. The offering-making workshop was a thoughtful introduction to daily Balinese life, and visiting the temple was quite moving. Both gave us a chance to get to know Ari, Sindi and others.

The property had a lovely authentic feel. You get to experience the beautiful rural area of Bakas Bali. Ari and Sindi were incredibly kind and hospitable and couldn’t do enough for us, even picked us up at the airport which was amazing.

Incroyable moment de partage avec la famille de Ari et Sindi ! Nous nous sommes vraiment senti comme à la maison, les enfants ont pu aider à préparer les offrandes, participer à un cours de danse improvisé ou découvrir le cerf-volant avec toute la famille. Ari nous a emmené une matinée voir deux cascades et un temple magnifiques, sans aucun touriste tout en nous faisant découvrir Bali et sa culture. Les chambres étaient très bien équipées, propres et les repas délicieux. Seul regret n’être resté que deux jours !

Wow, was für ein Juwel. Hier bekommt man das authentische und familiäre Bali Gefühl. Das Zimmer ist geräumig und sauber, die Matratze ist bequem. Die Umgebung mit dem Garten ist ein Traum, hat mich komplett in meine Kindheit zurückversetzt. Man kann direkt vor Ort Roller mieten, mit dem man zu den zahlreichen Wasserfällen fahren kann. Die Gastgeber bieten unheimlich viele Aktivitäten an. Wir haben beim Kochkurs (inkl. Marktgang) mitgemacht und das war ein einmaliges Erlebnis. Wir wollten überhaupt nicht abreisen. Wir wünschen Ari und seiner Familie nur das Beste 🙏🏼

De persoonlijke aandacht van de eigenaren en personeel, je voelt je meteen thuis na aankomst met heerlijke zelfgemaakte juice. We wilden een paar dagen afwisselen van het strand maar hadden hier langer willen blijven. Het eten was ook super goed!

Alles was perfect!
