Anchorage Guesthouse

During my stay at the guesthouse, I appreciated the convenient location and peaceful atmosphere, which made it easy to relax. The guesthouse has a charming layout, and the room was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. It provided a good level of privacy and felt secure. Additionally, the staff member who checked me in, Nina, was welcoming and professional, offering a friendly start to my visit. Overall, the guesthouse has great potential for a pleasant stay, especially for travelers looking for a place to unwind. With a bit more attention to service consistency, this could be an ideal accommodation choice.

My experience unfortunately, did not live up to the expectations set at booking. I specifically chose this guesthouse because it advertised a functional swimming pool, and I confirmed beforehand that it was ready for use. However, upon arrival, I was informed that the pool was off-limits due to recent chemical treatment and would only be available the following day. Although slightly disappointed, I decided to let it go. The next morning, I again found the pool unavailable, this time because it hadn't been cleaned. In addition to the disappointment of not being able to use the pool the previous day, I also had an unpleasant interaction with a staff member named Rena (apologies if the name is incorrectly spelled) who introduced herself as the owner. She was unnecessarily rude to both me and my male friend, who had simply come to visit in the morning and was fully dressed, not intending to use the pool but to take videos and pictures of me in the pool. Despite being told by Nina, the check-in attendant, that visitors were allowed the previous day, Rena instructed my friend to leave in a disrespectful manner and threatened to charge me for having my 2 friends in the room. I made it clear I would have no problem paying if there was a fee for visitors, as I wasn’t aware of any restrictions on this. When I respectfully brought up my concerns to Rena and suggested she apologize to my friend for her rude behavior, she responded sarcastically and refused to apologize directly, saying, “it’s not my guest, I am not going to do that.” This level of unprofessionalism was shocking and left me deeply disappointed. I was intending on booking again for another stay as I am only going back to PTA today. Suggestions for Improvement: 1. Clear Communication: Guests should be provided accurate information about facilities. If there are maintenance issues, let guests know in advance, especially for amenities like the pool, which might be a deciding factor for bookings. 2.
