Casa Cristalul Muntilor

Arrivati a Poiana Mariului, abbiamo preso una stradina secondaria che si addentra nella campagna sopra il paese. Salendo ci siamo trovati in un luogo incantato con una vista mozzafiato: la pensione di Helena ti accoglie come un'oasi in mezzo alle colline intorno a Brazov. Una gestione familiare portata avanti con simpatia e carattere da Helena, con la quale se vorrete potrete passare interessanti serate a chiacchierare e sorseggiare liquore di visciole fatto in casa, sotto uno splendido cielo stellato. Gli appartamenti sono graziosi e puliti, il giardino è adatto a bambini e famiglie e per qualsiasi cosa potrete rivolgervi a Helena e contate sulla sua gentilezza.

The views from the location, high in the mountains, are beautiful. Nice outdoor seating areas, with hammocks and nice grass. Beautiful mountain place.

Road access to the property is not suitable for regular cars, or you risk skidding on a steep road that doesn't have side protection. Tight curves on the same conditions. No warning at the beginning of the road. Room not dusted properly, particularly around the beams, with spider cobs. Low level ceiling on the corridor not signaled and with unprotected (foam would be enough) edges that cussed my husband a bleeding wound and headache. No breakfast available, unless you order in advance. No nets at the windows to prevent insects coming in. Met locusts on the corridors. Small bathrooms.

Amazing view, amazing host!

- Very nice view to all the mountains around. Nice place to stay and eat outside. - The owner was very nice and very chatty. We even received a baked cake. Super cool person! - The room has a very nice view. - We were upgraded to rooms with toilet inside the room for free. - The house is very close to the bear sanctuary in Zarnesti. Amazing place, unique not only in Europe but in the world. Fully recommend!

- Like all mountain houses, the walls are ridiculously thin. It was a bit hard to sleep due to the very loud tourists that seem to do a party one floor below. - Extremely hot in the room. As most places in Romania, you cannot control the temperature. We slept with the windows open but it was still very hot. - Bathroom door didn't fully close and there was a bit of a weird smell in the bathroom from our arrival. - The shower should be fixed. It doesn't have enough strength and the things that hold it in place are very badly put. - The jacuzzi you see in the picture, is not actually in the room, as one might think from the description in booking. I found it a bit deceiving. There is only one jacuzzi in front of the house and it was closed. If you come for that, you might be disappointed. I am only writing this because i have been to places like that (with jacuzzi on balcony) in Japan and other asian countries, so somehow, I had this expectation.

The view from the location was delightful, and our interaction with the host was exceptionally pleasant.

While the room was clean and well-maintained, there were a couple of aspects that detracted from our overall experience. Firstly, the absence of anti-mosquito nets on the windows led to an influx of insects in our room and the bathroom, which was no pleasant at all. Additionally, it was inconvenient to have the bathroom located on a different floor than the room. This arrangement proved to be less than ideal during our stay. Furthermore, the proximity to restaurants could be a concern for those without access to a car. The distance made dining options less accessible, and we found ourselves inconvenienced by this during our visit. Lastly, the steep road leading up to the location posed a challenge, particularly when navigating it with a car full of people and luggage. This aspect added a degree of difficulty to our arrival. Overall, while the cleanliness of the room was commendable, these aforementioned issues did impact our overall satisfaction during our stay.
