Guesthouse Sofia

The room had an excellent view of the lake from the terrace. It was really nice and clean, it was also very easy to get in contact with the host who was very pleasant. Once you knew the surrounding area, everything was pretty easy to get to. I would definitely stay here again if I was in Stresa. There was a kettle and a fridge in the room, which came in handy. Plenty of storage space as well. Not far from public transportation like the bus and train.

It was more of a 20 minute walk from the train station to the apartment, since it was uphill. Going downhill, I’d say about 15. It wasn’t a big deal, but just in case it’s too far for anyone. There was also a barking dog outside, that barked throughout several nights. Some nights were quiet though. I’d suggest bringing some earplugs just in case.

the maid woke us up at 9:00 knocking on the door… check out is at 10. There were some blood drops on the toilet paper…

Really clean bathroom and bedroom, Large comfortable bed, Very kind friendly staff Fridge, kettle and basic utensils were a nice touch.

The location is slightly far out from the town centre but nothing too bad.

Bed was okay, so was the bathroom.

We stayed in flat C. Barely any daylight (There were three windows: Two of them were covered from outside, the window blind of the other window could not be lifted without keeping the window open). The interior was not well designed (many different bright colors, different shapes and materials for such a small room, various colors of the light bulbs etc). Also it was rainy and cold outside, so the air in the apartment got wet and cold as well. Unfortunately it was not possible for the landlord to turn the heater on. There was no view from our room. We know the price per night was not high, but still the apartment was less than you can expect.

Salvatore was so friendly and helpful! The place was cl3an and comfortable. Felt like I was in my own homey hideaway despite there being a room next to me. It's down a little alleyway so it could be missed but there's a photo to show where it is.
