The Vaal Guesthouse

The view over the lake was awesome. Also the food, made by chef Vincent, was outstanding. It was a very quiet place and the employees were very friendly! We also got a nice welcome drink in the room. It was a lovely stay!

Some things were a bit outdated, for example the toilet seat. But that did not really bothered us.

Very accommodating hosts. The room was fantastic. The food in the restaurant was superb. I loved this place and would definitely return. My son wanted to fish and I spoke to them about him being able to fish. They did extra effort and made sure that the waterfront’s grass was cut. We had such a lovely time!!!

The place was so peacful the lake view was amazing and the food is sooooooooo good. we really enjoyed our stay.

Loved our stay at The Vaal Guesthouse, chef Vincent made 5 star rated food for us. Breakfast and dinner was excellent. We recommend you coming and trying out the dishes for yourself. Staff is so helpful and makes you feel so comfortable. Would come here again!

Upon arrival, the guesthouse was empty with no one to receive guests. No staff were available except cleaning staff who did not know how to handle the situation. Trying to contact the relevant people was very troubling, and they did not offer many solutions when we finally reached them. The rooms were not ready for guests, and it seemed like the guesthouse was actually closed at that time. There was no running water in the room I stayed in. At 5 p.m., all of the staff left, and I was left there alone. I checked myself out during the night to find alternative accommodation where I felt safer.

The host was great and went out of her way to make us as comfortable as we can be. Both breakfast and dinner were very nice and we enjoyed our meals. The place is very beautiful and quite peaceful especially when you need some down time away from the city.

There is no daily room cleaning service which could have been an added bonus, we only stayed for 2 nights so it was fine.
