The Vaal Guesthouse

Our private Chef Sydney (apologies if I've spelt it incorrectly) was incredible, very helpful and fantastic chef, fantastic location and very spacious room (we had the largest suite) and 3 meals a day cooked by Sydney were great Place was clean, very welcoming, and hosted amazing views. Facilities were excellent. Very safe area, having to pass through 2 manned checkpoints to get to the Guest house was reassuring

Personally the pillows were a bit large and hard, I prefer a softer and flatter pillow but that's a personal preference Some rough dirt roads were unexpected but as we'd hired an SUV it wasn't any real issue, some smaller cars may struggle

The staff was super friendly. The place felt like home from home. The area clean and the breeze was wonderful. We couldn't ask for more. We got value for money.

The food was outstanding and the staff are lovely. We enjoyed every minute and would definitely want to visit again.

We would have appreciated the host being upfront about the cost of the food that we ordered so that we could be prepared. We were only made aware of the cost after the fact.

Marie is an angel. She gave us royalty treatment. She really personifies generosity

Breakfast was copious and included in the booking prices. The view of the Vaal dam was good. Marie is amazing with the guests!

The absence TV and wifi in our room. Also, the surrounding town of Oranjeville is a big disappointment. There is nothing to see there!

Secluded

Needed some time away for a break. Recovering from Burnout. It was exactly what I needed. It is secluded, close to the dam, the view is absolutely scenic. The staff was very friendly, energetic, willing to go the extra mile. The host/owner is is lovely, we stayed up for hours talking with her, like "real" guests in her home. We could have all our meals to order. The chef is good. Absolutely loved our stay, will be a regular God willing.

Host was very hospitable.
