GBWe stayed in the Japanese room which felt like being in a film set. It was absolutely stunning, every detail beautifully designed and considered. We enjoyed having use of the kitchen facilities and lounge, where we met friendly and interesting guests. Our host Hanneke was extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the area, giving us great recommendations for places to visit. Arita is a beautiful town to explore by foot from the property, and nearby Okawachiyama is another stunning hidden gem of a place to visit to explore the potteries, just a short drive away.

DEDie Unterkunft ist absolut zu empfehlen. Die Gastgeberin spricht perfekt englisch, ist unglaublich freundlich, hilfsbereit und fröhlich. Sie hat uns viele Tips gegeben - auch über Arita hinaus. Es war eine große Freude in ihrem schönen Haus zu übernachten. Alles ist sehr gepflegt und sauber. Vielen Dank!
DEThe guest house is in the perfect location to explore Arita on foot. A short taxi ride from the main train station or a short walk from a smaller train station. The Japanese style room in the main house I stayed in was of very generous size and very comfortable. The host is very friendly, happily shares tipps of what to do and where to eat and goes out of her way to support her guests. I will definitely come back if I come back to Arita!

ITOur stay at Mrs. Hanneke’s guesthouse was simply wonderful. From the very first moment, her warmth and genuine hospitality made us feel completely at home. She is an incredible host — kind, attentive, and truly caring in every detail. The design of the guesthouse is absolutely stunning. Every space is thoughtfully curated, blending elegance with a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. But the highlight for us was the Japanese-style family room: it felt like stepping into a dream. Sleeping there was like being inside a Miyazaki illustration — peaceful, magical, and full of charm. The soft lighting, the tatami atmosphere, and the beautiful details created an unforgettable experience. Everything was spotless, comfortable, and perfectly arranged. You can feel the love and dedication behind this place. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for something special, authentic, and beautifully designed. A true gem.
