Umaya Holiday Home

We stayed for one night. Drove here from Eluwankuluma by tuk tuk, arrived around 5pm. We parked right next to the building about 5 meters from our room door. We were greeted by the amazing staff with some juice. The location is perfect, right off the main road into Anuradhapura. There is a great Indian restaurant nearby (3min tuk tuk) where had amazing dinner and also got some food from the next door bakery for the road the next day. We planned to go to Anuradhapura early (6am). The staff offered to arrange bikes for us as well as keep our backpacks. (we asked at 9pm the night before and they helped us right away, amazing!!) When we got up the staff offered us coffee (knock on door 6am sharp) The bikes were there, perfect. it’s a couple minutes bike ride to the nearest sights. When we got back staff was there again with refreshments and we even got to use our bathroom even though we were past checkout. All in all amazing experience and value for money!!

The room is in the corner of the building and it got a little noisy every now and then. No issue for us but if you’re not a deep sleeper, bring earbuds!

Lovely welcome with a cool drink on arrival. Very friendly hosts that advised on where to eat locally booked us a tuk tuk when needed. Room was good, very clean (as was house and yard). Fan and aircon in room which was needed. Overall very good stay and would stay again.

The place was very nice and calm, nicely located near to the lake, the staff there were so friendly and especially Mado she was very professional, helpful and she gave us many recommendations.

I had an amazing experience during my stay at this booking. The hosts went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, surprising me with a refreshing drink upon arrival. They even offered me bed tea, a thoughtful gesture not mentioned in the facilities. Their kindness extended further as they generously dropped me off at the bus stand without any charge. The room facilities surpassed my expectations and I'm already looking forward to staying here again. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay at Umaya. The hospitality is second to none! The hosts are so friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast and tea each morning. The room was very comfortable and clean and had all the amenities needed. Would highly recommend! ☺️ A convenient location just a short walk from the swimming lake and not far from the sacred city

No fault of the property, a monastery was playing loud music to 5 am.
