Riad lala zakia

Un hébergement très typique, maison de famille, au coeur des ruelles . Un surclassement qui nous a fait profité d'une magnifique suite. L'accueil généreux, les échanges nombreux avec notre hôtesse.

De locatie en gasvrijheid van onze host was voortreffelijk. We voelden ons er gelijk thuis.

Als je voor luxe gaat is dit niet te beste optie. Het is simpel maar wel erg gezellig en verwelkomend.

The host was really nice to us! There has been a misunderstanding on booking and we were assured that we would each have one room, that is how it was displayed on the booking, but she told us that this was not the case. However, since no one stayed there, she offered us each a room, which I found very nice of her.

The beds were quite uncomfortable and it was really loud at night, since the apartment is in the heart of the village basically.

Great location near the plaza. The owner was very kind and welcoming. Great view from the terrace. The mosque is far from the riad so you won't hear the speakers from the mosque blasting into your room. I've had that happen in several places I've stayed in Morocco. Very quiet location.

The owner was very friendly, accommodating and went out of her way to make sure I felt welcome and comfortable. The riad has a nice layout. It is an older building but has been updated where needed. The terrace view is gorgeous. It's in an ideal location - not a far walk from the plaza where all the restaurants are. I highly recommend!

Wonderful host, wonderful town, wonderful energies

This place is, um, eccentric. Funky layout, decor, and clutter of nick-knacks, and with lots of narrow, winding stairwells. You can get lost within the residence itself :-). And it is hard to tell what are open/common/shared sitting areas versus what are private rooms. But the place certainly does have some great views. Although it was a bit pricey for what you get (and least for the room that I got). As for finding the residence within the community, well, that was a challenge. Google Maps is not of any great help in identifying the location of the residence, and then getting you through the rabbit warren of alleys. Enter off of the main 'square' next to the market, through the main entrance in the corner of that square. At the 'Tomb' (which you are only allowed to enter if you are a Muslim) take a right. Then take the next left (through a tunnel-like alley, if I recall correctly). Then keep to the left at the various intersections. Eventually on your left side you'll see a yellow door above which hangs the sign 'Maison D'Hote Mannaoui' (see attached photo). That is this Riad. Only in tiny print will you find the name 'Riad lala Zakia'.

It was a very simple house, very complicated to arrive through the small streets and Google maps was very weak. We were helped by policemen, it was late at night. The lady is very nice but her place was much to simple and full of unwanted furniture in very small rooms. The bathroom as well simple. Without wanting to hurt, but I have seen wonderful places in Morocco for a similar price. It would be good for young backpackers willing to deal with such an adventurous place. Not elderly ladies wanting a warm place in a winter night.
