There are accommodations you immediately like when you open the door. This is one of those places. The room was very stylishly decorated, in our case, in the style of 'Africa'. The warm colours and decorations immediately make you feel at home. The bathroom is also spacious, with two sinks. The host is incredibly friendly and also runs a shop of medieval themed trinkets on the first floor. In the morning she provides a nice little breakfast. The accommodation is right in the middle of the old town, easily reached when following the clear instructions that were sent through Booking (use Google Translate). Sos del Rey Catolico was also a very pleasant surprise on our journey through the Pyrenees. With the free map provided by the host we spend several hours exploring all the hidden corners of the maze that is Sos del Rey Catolico.

While this place is close to perfect, a few adjustments would make it even better. There is a sitting corner in the room but the table is very low and not very suitable to use with a laptop. Also, while there were a few nice mints provided there was no complementary water, which you do get in many other places. Since there seems to be a lack of supermarkets in Sos del Rey (where do the inhabitants buy their stuff?!) we were lucky to still have some water in the car. While Spain's water is safe to drink the chloride taste is not our cup of tea.

The town is mostly pedestrian, so access by car is a little complicated

There is no parking at the hotel, which we knew however there is little to no parking in Sos del Rey which is the only negative.

Beautiful medieval village, located right in the centre on the tiny town square. It is quaint, mixing the old and new beautifully, with a great host

The building had a lot of character, the room was incredibly clean. We had beautiful views on the mountains from our room.
