I honestly don’t know where to begin with this place. It’s difficult to separate my feelings about Akvavit living from my feelings about Pattaya overall, but I will endeavour to do so. My partner and I came and stayed here for three nights in late December with the intention of finding some snorkelling near Bangkok. I don’t know why we didn’t do more research about the area before coming, or why nobody in our lives warned us, but if you are young and looking for a cool place near Bangkok to snorkel, DO NOT come to Pattaya. If you are even just a person on Earth, DO NOT come to Pattaya. It was achingly clear from the moment we arrived that this was a city with one very specific demographic: elderly white men searching for young Thai girls to exploit. Our entire trip, this was all we saw. Every restaurant, all day at the beach, it was only older white men with younger Asian women. The Akvavit bar & grill underneath the hotel is a shining example of this trend. I will get back to that. In Bangkok, we stayed in the busiest tourist area in the city and the food in Pattaya was still easily 3x the price of anything there. Though we searched far and wide through the streets near us for local food that was affordable and looked safe to eat, we ended up just ordering Grab back to the hotel most nights of our stay. But this is not a review of Pattaya, it is a review of Akvavit living. So I will review the place now. The accommodation itself seemed cheap when we booked it months ago, but believe me: it is not worth the price. I mentioned the bar & grill underneath the hotel. I want to make it clear that the restaurant is the hotel. The hotel front desk is inside the restaurant, and the entrance to the hotel is through it. To check into the hotel, we had to drag our suitcases up through the tables and past the bar up to the sticky front desk where we got our key. full of old men with women they had solicited. The restaurant itself is also incredibly overpriced (which I can’t judge-obviously we stayed in the most tourist-trap area of the city). The journey up to the room was no less than treacherous each and every time. Out the back of the restaurant, there is a door leading to a dark, steep, overpoweringly strong-smelling stairwell. The staff were helpful with getting us up all 4 flights to our room, but the inconvenience of so many stairs as well as the harsh blue LED lights in the hallways and a scent of eucalyptus so strong it burned my nostrils was simply not worth it. Even the key to the room was an unnecessary inconvenience: the lock needed to be turned fully twice to both lock and unlock. Annoying. Whenever we entered or exited the hotel, we were given uncomfortable stares by the staff as we walked through the restaurant. At our checkout, the staff were very visibly displeased at our request for help bringing our luggage down all of the stairs. If not for all of that, then sure, the room is nice. Bathroom is good and there’s lots of storage, plus the balcony was great with a lovely view of the beach. It was everything outside of the room that made Pattaya such disappointment. Our mistake was not doing enough research about Pattaya before coming here. This was a stupid oversight on our parts, but I truly believe that nowhere on Earth like Pattaya should exist. Whole cities dedicated to the purchasing of young women by old tourists. Anyone who comes here knowingly to participate in this culture of exploitation should be ashamed. We’re still glad we came to Pattaya, but only as a learning experience to do more research before travelling next time. I will say this: if you are a white and overweight dirtbag who is looking to go to Pattaya to hire a prostitute, then stay at Akvavit living. You will be right at home.

Aamiaista olisi saanut vasta klo 10 jälkeen, joten en ostanut sitä hotellista. Varatessani luulin, että aamiainen kuuluisi hintaan. Ravintolassa oli hyvää eurooppalaista ruokaa ja viinejä. Parvekkeelta ja jopa sängystä näkyi mereen laskeva ilta-aurinko.

Hotellista puuttuu uima-allas. Kun kysyin hotellilta, onko lähiympäristössä uima-allasta, minne pääsee, he eivät neuvoneet. Itse löysin sellaisen vasta matkani puolivälissä.

Sehr freundliches Personal und sehr sauber. Sehr gute Lage, direkt über die Straße ist man am Strand. Geschäfte, sehr gute Massagesaloons und Restaurants in unmittelbarer Nähe .
