Tabua Village Madeira

It's a lovely rustic place in nature. Nice outside areas with loads of beautiful plants. The owners are lovely they gave us a fruit salad on arrival, a cheese toastie one morning and a gift when we left. They are there if you need anything but not overbearing either. The bed was very comfy. The room had everything you need fridge, hob, coffee maker etc. Its quiet although we were the only people staying there but we slept really well. Thank you so much for making us welcome.

Only criticism is bathroom is very small and TV is up very high on wall and you have to lie in bed to see it. Not much room by the bed and only one bedside table, these are small issues which I think we only found as we both poorly whilst we stayed there so the room comfort became a small issue. But the beauty of the place makes up for the lack in comfort and luxury. Only 3 parking spaces sometimes we could park, its very tight but you can park on the road too.

The owners were very nice and welcoming. The garden area was really nice, and we also enjoyed watching the sunset from the viewpoint

Tabua Village is a great place to stay for a hiking trip. It is in the middle of the southern coast and it is very comfortable to get everywhere from there. The room has a comfortable double bed together with a small kitchen and a bathroom. The host changes the towels regularly and offers to clean the room (free of charge) if you stay longer than a few days. There are 4 rooms available and 3 parking spaces in the yard but you can easily park on the street. There is a washing machine available (free of charge) which is very helpful. The best part is the yard with many places to sit and enjoy the views of banana trees, mangos and avocados. The hosts are very nice people, sharing everyrhing with the guests - good advices, fresh fruit and even sangria😀 we were very happy to meet them and stay here. Thank you!

The kitchen could be better equipped, it lacks a few salad bowls, bigger pan, etc. but we managed since we mostly ate out. Right in front of the doors to the rooms there is a shaded area with the dining tables assigned to each room. We would suggest to the host to make this area a non-smoking area because when guests smoke, all of the smell goes directly to the rooms. There are plenty of other places to sit and smoke in the garden. The soundproofing is non-existant so if you have loud late-night-party type of neighbourghs you will not be able to get a good night sleep. Despite all of this, the host was very helpful and very kind and we loved staying here🙂

Hosts were SO kind and welcoming- we were given a beautiful homemade fruit platter upon our arrival which was delicious and a lovely surprise. We enjoyed having laundry onsite and the sunset overlook behind the banana plantation was really neat! We also enjoyed walking to Ribeira Brava to have dinner at wonderful Muralha Terrace (eat there!). We had to walk on the road (a little nervous) for just a little while until we could descend along a long stone staircase to the promenade that takes you into town (about a 2 mile walk total). We took a taxi back for about 10 euro.

The room itself was a good size, but the bathroom felt cramped for my 6' tall partner. It felt a bit stuffy in the room, but were thankful for the oscillating fan, which we positioned in front of the screened windows on the door, to get some air movement. We wished for an additional window to help with air flow. We kept the bathroom door closed to keep the heat (seemed to be radiant floor heat we couldn't turn off) and humidity from using the shower contained. We also struggled with wifi connection.

I visited the place with my soulmate last year and I liked it very much. So this year I came again with the group of 4 friends. We all liked the tranquility of the area and evening meals with a view of banana plantation was just great. The owners are very helpful, polite and caring. We were welcome with plates of fruit and smile. We received a lot of information about places around. The rooms are with their own bathrooms and kitchenettes which is very handy. The common area is also very well equiped with washing machine at your disposal. In all, if you are looking for a quiet, peaceful area, this is a very nice place to stay.

Very helpful host. Whatever questions we had they try to answer. You can expect several nice suprises. Quiet and peaceful neighborhood. If You rent a car location is not a problem. Rooms simple and clean, a lot of place to seat outside. Highly recommend!

Beautiful private view and garden, kind host, banana plantation. Delicious welcome fruit salad

Everything about the place was great, what makes it even more great was Franco with his wife who really wanted us to feel like home. Our suite had everything it should had, it was clean, well furnished. The location of Tabua Village is reall great, it is almost always sunny and just few minutes there is a local supermarket and great promenade by the sea. The "secret sunset spot" near the accommodation was just a cherry on top.

The property was very clean and the staff was very kind and helpful! the location was perfect for all of the attractions on the Western half of the island!
