Sandhya Guest House Varanasi Near Ganga River

Bon emplacement à l'écart de l'agitation du centre et près de Assi. L'équipe et le propriétaire sont très sympas. L'équipement est correct.

This stay was absolutely fantastic, the staff were so helpful and accommodating and made me feel so welcome. The room was great with a comfortable bed and a lovely balcony. The restaurant on the rooftop serves delicious food and the location of the property is very central with everything in walking distance. Couldn't have asked for any better, the best place I have stayed in India.

Хорошо погостили в этом доме, приятная и отзывчивая жена хозяина Санака готовила нам домашнюю еду; выделили комнату во время ожидания утром и до вечера, после выселения из нашей комнаты. Гостевой дом расположен со стороны улицы Годаулия Godauliya Street, напротив Чет Синх Гата Chet Singh Ghat, рядом с Аси Гхатом Assi Ghat, откуда можно сесть на лодку до Каши Вишванатха, главного храма Варанаси, а также посмотреть Аарти, около 6-7 вечера, и утром, посетить книжную лавку Kashi Annapurna Bookshop и отличное кафе/пиццерию напротив. Предварительно лучше написать/позвонить и заранее договориться в какой комнате Вы хотели бы остановиться (какую именно Вы забронировали), потому что комнаты разные. Джая Боленатх 🙏

This place has huge potential and with a little more care could be great. Our hosts were great fun, with good conversation and they kindly provided free bottles of water on demand. So here’s the thing - I feel sad to say this as the owners are really lovely people: Sandhya is good value, because it’s cheap and in a great location. Our room had been recently painted - but just one coat as you could see the old design showing through. The bed’s headboard was old and tired and had paint spatters all over it. The bathroom was not clean and there was paint all over the tap. The double bed had two separate single mattresses (quite usual) but not so comfortable. The roof terrace/restaurant could be lovely, but needs doing up. While there is a good menu, most items weren’t available. But our lovely Japanese host made great effort to provide a delicious meal at short notice, for which I was thankful. Breakfast was ok.

It needs more care and attention

Absolument parfait!! Un personnel aux petits soins, un couple de propriétaire charmant. On y est comme à la maison!!! Une guesthouse typique dans son jus au cœur de Varanasi dans un quartier bouillonnant de Vie. Petit restaurant en rooftop avec une carte delicieuse. Terrasse ensoleillée!! J’ai eu une chambre lumineuse avec deux balcons donnant sur une ruelle assez "calme" (vous êtes à Varanasi). Une literie excellente, une salle de bain à l'indienne, le tout baignant dans un charme fou!! J’ai eu la chance de ponctuer mon voyage dans cet endroit que je n'oublierai jamais. Encore merci pour tout, je reviendrai c'est certain!!

La fin de mon Visa!! J’y serais bien resté moi à Sandhya 😊

Eau chaude et localisation, disponibilité du personnel

Peut être que nous n'avions pas très bien lu, mais nous avons été surpris de la chambre après tous les avis positifs que nous avions lus. Chambre pas insonorisée ni isolée (ni avec la rue ni avec le couloir) : ouverture sur le couloir, pas de rideaux. Le ménage du sol ne doit pas être fait très régulièrement vu l'état. Convient pour dormir si vous passez une nuit à Varanasi, pas plus.

Friendly staff, helpful people, clean room with all basic facilities including AC, TV, Wifi, Electric Kettle etc.

The quality of the washroom can be improved a little bit more. An additional table can be provided to keep luggage.
