At 4AM, someone broke into our room. Thankfully we were up already and chased him away. Keys for all the room are in a safe that’s not so safe evidently. Staff told us « unfortunately, these things happen ». Still waiting to get our money back. Worst hotel experience ever.

Location was very convenient to the things we wanted to do and see. 10-15 minutes travel time via the walking/bus to the train station.

They started to clean the room for the next guest before our checkout. Made the bed and replaced towels while we were out for breakfast. Our luggage was still in the room, came back an hour before checkout with plans to relax a bit and take a quick shower. But made us feel uncomfortable to do these things because we would have undone what the cleaner just did. So unfortunately we just took our stuff frustrated. Smaller note but also annoying we requested to check in early in the morning if possible because we took the overnight train in. They told us it wasn’t possible but they could hold our bags and to come closer to the check in time. Ok no problem, I figured checking in so early was a long shot. However, we came back 30 minutes before the early check in and they told us that we had to wait again. If they were going to make us wait until the “official” check in time why not just tell us that. We were traveling with a three year old and it was hot and he was grumpy after a day of sightseeing. If they are so willing to clean the room while I was still using the property you would have thought that when we tried to check in 30 minutes early that shouldn’t have been a problem. There is a large staircase to get to the property but that is pretty standard in Italy so it’s not a huge problem but people should be aware if they have mobility problems.
