Rooms and Wine al Castello

We enjoyed everything about the comfort and physical structure of our accommodation but particularly appreciated the efforts and company of our hosts. They made us feel very welcome. We spent five nights here and were a bit sad to leave. The property, dating back to the mid-1600s, is steeped in history but has been superbly renovated. It sits in the main piazza and is supported by a nice wine bar and restaurant which has excellent meals. We were unsure as to what wine to have with our meal and were given an impromptu wine tasting by the lovely ladies who assisted us with our meal. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and really well decorated. Private parking is available next to the main public park and after a short walk through the adjacent olive grove. Check in details are gathered by the completion of an online registration form which does take a few minutes but it provides the hosts the time to complete vehicle details for ZTL registration to assist with dropping off your luggage. Everything. What a wonderful small hotel run by amazing people. Form the communication and welcome through to the room everything. Was just excellent. I don't 5ink the pictures on booking.com do this place justice. It is a gem.

The Organisation re: booking, reaction to enquires etc were all first class. We ordered the wine paired dinner. The food and wine was very good but the young woman who served us and explained about the food and wine was exceptional. We all thought the breakfast was excellent.

The breakfast delivered to the room could have been better, more fruit maybe, or a boiled egg. We were going on a long walk that day so needed a bit more than what was provided.

Tolle Lage und Blick auf Monteriggionis Umland. Sehr ruhig und schöne Ausstattung. Frühstück kommt morgens vor das Zimmer.

Italienisches Frühstück mag für manche wenig Auswahl beinhalten.

The sitting room was locked in the afternoon when we wanted to use it! We had to ask if they would unlock it. Also dinner was disappointing - menu v limited & more lunch menu than evening. Told to be patient when our starters arrived but no sign of the wine we’d ordered first.
