Lory's Suite

Lory's suite was the perfect space for my friends and I. We are studying abroad and have traveled each weekend. This was by far our favorite stay. There were four of us and the room had one queen bed, one single bed, and one full bed. It is in close proximity to everything and less than a minute walk from the train station. We felt very safe and everyone was super nice. The suite was clean and they left a bottle of wine in the fridge for us. There are tons of great restaurants close by and the water is a 5 minute walk.

Bottle of wine provided very nice, but corkscrew provided was unusable as screw part was missing/broken off. So no wine.

Bulbs in lamps should be provided.

Huge room. Clean, comfortable bed, good bathroom. Close to station and main town. Access to room was easy with good directions and key in lock box. There is a steep flight of stairs inside the building and a few steps inside the room. Hosts were wonderful and came straight away to fix a couple of issues - lights in stairwell and internet access - and gave me a bottle of wine which was very good of them. Also bottle of wine on the table. Nice balcony looking onto trees and up to the colourful houses on the hill and the clock tower. Lovely all lit up at night. Bells do ring on the clock tower every half hour but stop during the night. Just a heads up if you only have a European electrical adaptor plug without an Italian adaptor, these don’t work in the plugs in the main area. There is a lead in the bathroom it works on. It needs the light (includes fan) on for it to work. The electric jug, hairdryer and coffee maker only seem to attach to this lead as well.

Nothing, it was all fine.

A few personal observations… Studio of decent size ..unusual layout..sink is at the front and than 4 large steps down leading to an area with small fridge, table, plates… Nice balcony with small table where one can have a glass of wine as we did.. We do appreciate a bottle of wine left for us by the host. Location is great.. close to everything… Unfortunately very noisy most of the time..a bus stops under the balcony.. loud talking of the people, smoking any hours of the day (one will get a fair amount of second hand smoking) and bell tower across the street is really a thing ! Starts at 7am, 8am ...etc counting the hours with corresponding # of bells..woke us up at 7am every morning without failing… Cell phone is working OK but was not been able to connect my laptop to Wi-Fi… The strangest thing was a list of warning left for us..with $$ penalties !! 40 Euro for cleaning kitchen (but there is no kitchen ! )…100 Euro for clog toilet or tub ?!! I have never encounter anything like that anywhere around the world. I wish we new about that & ringing bell tower across the street before making the reservation. I think things like that must be disclosed on Booking.com site.

The location was great - right off the Main Street but up away from the harbor so a little less busy/loud. Also, there is a great little food spot extremely close and a store that will hold your bags for a few days f you want to hang out after checkout.

The light went out on the stairwell so it was DARK at night to go up/down the long flight of marvel stairs. We shared that it was out but it was not fixed while we were there. Bed was a little hard for our taste so made sleeping comfortably a little difficult. As you enter the unit, it’s a bit dark/musty but the room was open and airy with doors that open to to a small balcony, so that made it better.

Great location and A/C worked great.

The location was very convenient in the heart of Manarola, just a short walk to the train and the Cinque Terre hiking trails

The room was subpar. It did have an AC, which was great, but the fridge was incredibly noisy, the walls were thin & neighbors noisy, the details were unfinished. In short, it felt like a 2 star hotel. Fine for budget travelers.
