A wonderful guesthouse in a stunning location that feels truly special. We loved looking at the Flowers/Birds/insects as well as the beautiful sunrises and stargazing. The host Takao-san and family were very kind and helpful

Everything was perfect, and even after 8 nights there we still ran out of time for local places we wanted to go to. We would highly recommend Takao-san’s rafting/canoe tour as he was also an excellent guide and helped us see Kingfishers/Ospreys/Sandpipers/Mandarin ducks etc

Absolutely the coolest little spot in Japan. Highly recommend to anyone with a slightly adventurous spirit who is interested in seeing a quiet rural way of life surrounded by immense beauty

Guesthouse En was our favourite place we stayed on our 3 week stay in Japan. The owners are lovely and make you feel welcomed immediately. The view is incredible and the traditional japanese bath experience was amazing. The futons were comfortable and the room was warm. Loved it!

We loved the location, it's a beautiful view from up on the hillside and you can fully enjoy it from the outdoor areas in front of the guesthouse. The house itself is lovely. We particularly enjoyed spending time in the living room. The room was cosy and we loved being able to slide open the doors and have direct access to nature. Takao is a consummate host - very friendly, excellent communication, and he has thought of absolutely everything you could possibly want.

There was nothing we didn't like!

This guesthouse is worth the climb: located in a beautiful mountainous forest, the sounds of cities and cars are replaced by nature and animals. Takao-san is a wonderful host: he came to our car in the pouring rain with spare umbrellas and upgraded us to the largest room as we were the only guests that night. His family was also very welcoming and sweet. Everything was clean, combining the convivial guesthouse atmosphere to the traditional ryokan room architecture.

Maybe driving uphill in a rainy evening, but this is part of Kochi's charm, otherwise nothing to complain about. Even though the guesthouse is quite remote, you can get to lovely places such as Nakatsu Gorge within an hour.

A beautiful place staffed by a beautiful family. They were so attentive to our needs and we loved relaxing outside in the countryside m, BBQ was great, outside bath just stunning
