Bakushuku Den Guest House Brew

I enjoyed my stay and the staff were very welcoming. Everything was explained clearly. My room was clean and comfortable. It was very quiet and I slept well. I used the kitchen to make a cup of tea in the morning.

Nothing! Everything was great.

Le propriétaire est très sympathique, et nous avons pu échanger avec d’autres clients autour d’une bonne bière de la brasserie. Ambiance très sympa ! Un magasin généraliste est ouvert jusque minuit à proximité. On y arrive facilement à pied (moins de 10’) depuis la gare locale (en venant de Matsuyama), et une autre gare régionale se situe à 15’ à pied (pour rejoindre d’autre villes comme Imabari).

I love everything about this place, the fact that they sell beer that they brew themselves downstairs, that everything is clean. And especially the host is an extremely kind person who truly cares about his guests and helped me with all of the issues I had

I actually liked this about the place but might be helpful for others to know. This guest house is close to the airport (10 mins driving, 40 mins by public transit) but not too close to Matsuyama city center (50-60 mins by public transit)

宿の一階にあるさまざまなクラフトビールをいただけるスペースがあって、そこにいるナオくんというバーテンダーがほんとに最高。ずっと前からここに呑みに来てるんじゃないかと錯覚させてくれる。お話上手な方です。

Charming guesthouse. Den and the rest of the staff are really lovely, friendly people. They even let me check in later than usual because my flight got delayed because of a typhoon. They left messages on signs for me every morning to wish me a good day. The guesthouse has a traditional Japanese guesthouse style, with some tatami rooms with futons and other ones with beds. But the guesthouse itself is well preserved, so it feels traditional but not old. They offer amenities such as face and body towel, toothpaste, face cleanser, body soap, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryers, and cotton swabs, apart from a kitchen with a fridge and utensils you can use to cook, and a washing machine as well. The guesthouse is located right above a brewery, but even though they play music, I didn't feel my room was noisy and I could rest well at night (and they close before midnight). Anyway, they leave earplugs and blindfolds in your room in case you need them. The place was clean and had some nice art. It's a 5-minute walk to Mitsu station, which takes you to the central area in less than 30 minutes. I can recommend it.

Because of the material the building is made of, the second floor gets quite hot during summer, but rooms have air conditioner, so you won't feel hot.
