Beach House Cambodia

Location chilled ambiance. Rustic and relaxing. Right on the seashore, local village was excellent full of “real” Cambodian people it’s a community not just a tourist place. The “family meal” each night for guests was one of the best things we did on our entire 20+ days in Cambodia, we met some lovely people and the staff Rob, James and Prince made our stay one to remember.

It’s great but expect rustic, that’s the charm of the place. If you want a beach-life experience stay here, not the tourist places on Saracen Bay where we also stayed.

my room/the door - there were major gaps in the door so people can definitely see inside especially at night; the fan would only run for x hours and turns off automatically - I was woken up as a result of a sweaty, hot room the toilet - the light is motion censored; light turned off multiple times while I peed - waving my arms didn't turn it back on; I had to get up and walk around. also no lock on the door

Cambodia Beach House is absolutely stunning! We stayed for three nights, but we could have easily stayed for a week. The staff is super helpful and friendly, always with positive vibes. We stayed in a beach view room, which was very clean, with an incredible view—even better than in the photos! Breakfast and dinner were delicious, with a dinner menu that changes every day. They also offer a plankton tour (weather permitting), which was a unique experience. The island is beautiful, but Cambodia Beach House truly made it feel like paradise. Thank you very much for everything, Rob, Prince, and James! We’re already planning our return trip—hopefully soon!

The water did not come down in the shower, so they flooded the room. There was no possibility of washing your feet before entering the room, so a lot of sand entered the room

This place has the best atmosphere, the stuff - james, prince and rob let you feel like its your house and take care of all your needs. The property located 5 meters from the sea.

The facilities were great. Beach House Cambodia has everything you may need. The room was spacious, very clean, with lots of space for luggage, enough hangers, small but well designed and functional bathroom. The bed was comfortable, aircon worked perfectly, the WiFi signal was very strong. The common areas around the beach and the bar were very cozy, offering endless possibilities to chill with a book or a drink. The open air yoga space was just the cherry on top. But it’s really the people that make this place fantastic. The staff, especially James and Prince, went above and beyond in making my stay exceptional, from explaining all activities on the island, through organizing tours and “family dinners” to serving delicious breakfast on the deck, always with a warm smile.

Great location, right on the beachfront and only a minute walk or so to the ferry pier. Also close to the small number of restaurants around. Prince was super helpful with check in and arranging our check out as we were going very early. Drinks not too badly priced and they let you run a tab rather than paying right away. They also have a free kayak, paddle boards and snorkelling gear for guests to use. The treehouses themselves are cute with hammocks and chairs you can sit out on overlooking the beach. There is also a large fridge downstairs for guest use which also has free bottles of filtered water to take as you like.

Usually every hostel I’ve stayed at, the owner has made a real effort to chat and make you feel welcome. We did not get that same impression from Rob. I don’t think he greeted us once and was only bothered about speaking to his expat friends. In addition, they have a kitchen but this is only open for breakfast and shuts at midday. They do a family dinner most nights but we didn’t sign up to this as usually we find them quite overpriced. Also our room door wouldn’t shut properly and so let a lot of mosquitoes and bugs in. The hostel has potential to be great but there needs to be more effort to actually make guests feel welcome rather than focusing only on the expats living on the island.

Absolute heaven. Whilst the rooms are extremely well maintained, clean and comfortable the bit that stand out is that the staff makes sure your stay in M’Pay bai is memorable. Little chats guiding you through village life and solo adventures nearby and activities are offered if you feeling more social. The family dinners are a great opening to meet fellow guest and share information about this incredible island. Beach house Cambodia is a must stay!
