Yaye Guest House

The property is ver clean, with AC and a very nice garden. The person who greet us was magnificient, attentive, nice and cooked dinner for us under request (he went buying as we made the booking last minute). The surroundings are nice. I do higly recommend it!!

The host was extremely friendly and welcoming. He provided us with dinner as well as breakfast. The room was sweet and simple with a good shower!

My wife and I had a very pleasant stay at Yaye. The setting is in the countryside with access to magical walks through rice paddies and farm land with opportunities to connect with friendly locals. Walks can take you all the way to seaside with many bird and water buffalo sightings. The accommodations at Yaye are modest, but adequate. The courtyard setting is beautiful and zen-like. The fish dinner prepared by host was one of the best meals we had while we were in Sri Lanka. Host was gracious and accommodating! Yaye for us was very memorable.

Yaye is still a developing tourist destination. Host is working hard to improve and open to suggestions. Location outside of Tissamaharama may discourage travelers, but please try if you seek a unique countryside experience full of friendly locals and eye-popping sights.

The host was excellent and spent time taking us out into the paddy fields to spot local wildlife including crocodiles, monitor lizards and local birds. He's also an amazing cook!

It is in a remote spot which was fantastic for us as it was great to be in nature. However, it's fairly easy to get a tuktuk there

This is one of the nicest home stay/guest house we have stayed in Sri Lanka. It’s very different, with rice fields around. The gardens are lovely & peaceful. The unit is very well presented and it a bit different. The host, Shantha is very obliging with food. We stayed there while doing a safari at Yala National Park & it was close enough to enjoy the surroundings. We highly recommend Yaye Guest House

The guest house is great. Small and cozy. Super green around, it has jungle vibe to it. Highly recommended. We also had dinner here, which was super delicious srilankan food. Aircon in the room was powerful. The host was also super fun to hang out with. Only book this if you are going for a safari in Yala national park.

No lunch options here. No eateries around the property, bu t i think that is expected as its near to the national park.

The host was so warm and welcoming. He took us with him for a walk near his house to see crocodiles (we saw 3 crocodiles) he prepared amazing smoothies for us and showed all the little birds, bats and monkeys to us in his garden. And he all did that for free. He prepared diner for us with ingredients from his local farmers or his own garden, which tasted amazing. After one day we had to leave unfortunaltely for which we were both really sad since we really would like to have stayed longer. I cannot express in words how much I would recommend this place to anyone. I for sure would really like to come back here.

Parking available for the Tuk-Tuk we rented. Nice owner, who cooked for us and organized a safari. He took us to a Buddhist monastery and drove around with us to show us some animals. AC in the room. Soap in bathroom. It was clean. Breakfast was tasty. The owner really tries hard for people to feel comfortable.

A bit out of the way, but not a problem as we had our own Tuk tuk. Don’t let this discourage you. The host is great and can help you organize everything. You could easily book transport on PickMe.
