"Like staying with our long-lost Hungarian relatives"

10.0

This was possibly one of the nicest accommodations we have ever encountered in Hungary, and we've stayed in multiple locations in the country over the years! We were immediately welcomed in as if we were long-lost distant family - the comments relating to Auntie Sara and Uncle Peter are absolutely correct! My 11-month-old absolutely adored Auntie Sara (they have 5 grandchildren, so they know all about babies) and was very sad to say goodbye to her. They provided a travel cot, a baby bath and baby towel for her, gave her snacks, fussed over her, made her laugh... it was really a very special time for our little girl! We adults were not ignored, however - we were given welcome drinks (home-made palinkas) and snacks, teas and other drinks, a tour of the wine cellar, advice on what to do in the local area... and the breakfast, 3-course dinner and wine-tasting were absolutely superb, and very well-priced. We left for home with several bottles of wine! Sara even washed our baby bottles for us, which was very kind of her. As everything else, there is a secure courtyard to park the car, the area is safe and very quiet, the wifi is good, the shower water is hot, and the check-in time is very early, being from 10am, so we were able to make the most of our first day in the area. Also, while they don't speak English, we were able to manage long conversations with a translation app and a sense of humour. Thank you again - we will be back in a year or two for certain!

Other commenters have complained about the room being too small - well, it's not actually small, it's divided into three chambers with the bedroom being first, then a hall way with a large wardrobe through a door, then the bathroom (which is of medium size) to the side. There's enough space to put away empty baggage etc into the wardrobe, so you're not tripping over it.
