Absence of physical reception, reminders for penalties in each door when they activated our codes 15:10' and our room was ready 15:20'

This was our fourth visit to San Sebastian and we have always stayed within the Old Town for its atmosphere and closeness to amenities. We accept that staying within the Old Town can be a balance between location, facilities, comfort and price. We liked the central location, the lift (room was on 3rd floor), the cleanliness & the good bathroom.

No air-conditioning (and no ceiling fan). The small electric fan provided was completely inadequate and not very clean. There is an open-air restaurant opposite the building. Even on the 3rd floor, the noise levels at night meant that the window could not be left open. With poor ventilation in the room, sleep was uncomfortable (we had daytime temperatures of 30˚C). With the window open, sleep was impossible before 02.00 due to noise. The host did provide earplugs, however, so this is a known problem. Only one thin pillow provided per person. No bedside tables. The only space available close to the bed for personal items while sleeping was a tiny shelf, with just enough space for a mobile phone or book. Inadequate space to hang clothes. The small clothes rail provided was suspended above the shelf upon which the electric fan and kettle were placed. Nothing longer than a shirt could be hung and, if we had used the kettle, this would have been steamed.

1pillow which was so flat we had to put towels underneath, no doona, no air-con, nothing to sweep up the floor, noise from below at the bar until 3am. 200 euro per night is an overprice There was a threat made to cancel knowing there was no refund available.

Comfortable and warm room with big bed and tidy bathroom. Perfect location.
