Casa Pamela

We loved staying at Casa Pamela in Capri!!!! This offer makes staying in Capri possible given the high cost of lodging in this paradise of an island. The location is exceptional, right off the marina, therefore surrounded by many restaurants, little shops and gelatto / sorbet shops, the ticket office to purchase the funicular ticket and ferry back to sorrento and many others. The funicular that takes you to explore the island is 3 mins walking i would say from Casa Pamela. Not only the e location is the best, but the space is extremely generous, lovely decorated, extremely clean (spotless) and comfortable. I would describe it as a little apartment all for yourself with the best AC we experienced in Italy (and we spent 20+ days there in the mid of summer). You are received by a very pretty patio, full of beautiful plants and flowers, cafe lighting and a table with chairs to have breakfast if you wish or even conversation after exploring the island. Coming into the apartment, is the receiver, which the hosts have put lots of love and attention into stocking it with fresh fruit (the fresh cherries are the best we have ever had), pastries, and homemade cake if you prefer. Going down the stairs is the lovely suite. We had one of the best nights of rest in Casa Pamela. Bed was super comfortable as was the sofa bed and my son loved the linen the bed was dressed in (very soft). If all of this was amazing, the interaction with the hosts was superb. They were extremely attentive and went above and beyond to make us feel taken care of. We were provided tips about the island, recommendations for dining, which we took and were very pleased and they also checked with us that everything was up to our expectations. The accommodation was fantastic but the care and attention of the host, Alba and her husband, really blowed us away and made us fall in love not only with Capri and accommodation, but also with them as they were so extremely warm and caring with us.

It is very close to Marina Grande, you have privacy and a terrace all for yourself and air conditioning which is a must for summer time. Alba is very helpful and responsive on messaging and she also gave us a few recommendations for the island.

It's not that we didn't like it, but the breakfast could be filled up everyday but she cannot serve a hotel style breakfast because of Italian regulations.

The place and location is amazing!!! We felt so good there, Alba even made a cake for us and gave us a congratutions drink to celebrate our marriage. The pictures don't show how beautiful the place are. We loved it!

- location is very central and very close to ferry, beach and the funicular. - owner was very kind and helpful. She has also baked a cake for us by her self which was very nice. She was very responsive and replying very quick whenever we needed to ask about something. We had an issue with hot water and she fixed it immediately. - although we havent used it they provide daily cleaning if you want.

- the photos and the description in the ad was a bit misleading at least to us. The room is under the entrance floor so minus one. There is a window but it looks towards the long wall which is only 1 meter away. There is no direct day light at all and was a bit claustrophobic for us. We didnt want to stay in the room as much as possible. They also promote the terrace but it is not really a terrace. It is a small hall in the entrance of the building with a small table. And the only view you have is the high walls around you. - the room was very clean but apparently they used a lot of heavy chemicals for the bathroom and the smell of it didnt went away during our stay. It was also one of the reasons why we didnt want to take the daily cleaning service. There is also zero ventilation in the bathroom. We tries ventilating the bathroom through the window of the room - the noise of the funicular is ok since it stopped after 9:30 in the night but the room it self if very noisy. The pipes in the bathroom makes a lot of noise and also the fridge. There was a warning on the fridge that says "dont plug it off from the electricity". But there is a reason why people feel a need of shutting it off. It makes crazy noise and it was impossible for us to sleep with that noise. That is why sorry but we also had to plug it off during the night. - not sure if this price was reasonable for Capri but we stayed at much better houses on amalfi coast for a better prices during our travel. Comparing with those it was way more expensive comparing to those stays. - they provide breakfast. It is understandable that they are allowed to offer only packaged stuff but it doesnt have to be full of unhealthy junk food. We didnt use anything from the breakfast other than the coffee.
